Carnival offers fun, unity for foster families
WARREN -- Trumbull County Children Services' Foster Parent Association is sponsoring a carnival today from noon to 5 p.m. on the grounds of Children Services, at 2282 Reeves Road N.E.
The event is being provided for relatives and friends of Children Services' foster families.
The carnival's purpose is to encourage family unity, to promote fun and to hold structured activities for children. Furthermore, the Foster Parent Association will be seeking more foster and adoptive families within its own family networks.
Since foster parents are the best recruiters for other foster families, the FPA is spearheading this event for the purpose of finding more homes for maltreated children and adoptive homes for waiting children.
There are many activities planned for children and families including games and prizes, face painting, a magic show, clowns and a bake sale.
In addition to Children Services' staff and foster parents, various community agencies and organizations are volunteering their time and resources. The Warren Public Library, K-9's for Compassion, Camelot Center and General Motors Corp. will sponsor informational booths for the event.
