AUSTINTOWN -- The Mahoning County Bar Association is offering the People's Law School this fall in conjunction with the Austintown Park's 20/20 program.
People's Law School will be offered for 10 weeks at the Stacey Indoor Pavilion on Kirk Road. The classes begin Sept. 8 and will be every Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. through Nov. 10.
The course is designed to educate the public on various legal topics. Each week will feature a different lawyer presenting information on various topics.
Featured speakers
This fall Kathi McNabb Welsh, the Mahoning County deputy clerk of courts, will present an overview of the court system including small claims procedures.
Judge Elizabeth Kolby of Youngstown Municipal Court and attorney Ted Macejko Jr. will present a class on municipal court procedures, traffic laws and driving while under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
Attorney John B. Juhasz will speak on criminal and constitutional law; attorney Damian DeGenova will speak on landlord tenant law; attorney David Detec will present information on real estate law and buying a home; and attorney Ron Slipski will speak about workers' compensation law.
Other scheduled topics include divorce and custody issues, wills, living wills and adoptions and employment law.
