BOARDMAN -- Police arrested two men this week after authorities were called to the area between Brookfield and Glenwood avenues on reports of people looking into cars and houses.
Thomas J. Ricciardi, 25, of Becky Court, was charged with burglary and receiving stolen property, both felonies, and misdemeanor resisting arrest, and on two warrants, one for failure to appear on a theft charge and one for contempt of court.
Ralph M. Meta, 25, of Cook Avenue, was charged with theft of a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property, both felonies.
Police were called to the area about 9 a.m. Tuesday and found Ricciardi, who matched the description given by the callers, running through a back yard on Ewing Road. He was ordered to the ground but didn't comply and police forced him to the ground.
Some of the items found in his pockets -- a digital camera, watch, a ring and cash -- were identified by a victim as being taken from a house on Brookfield.
Another resident reported that his car, a 1995 Pontiac Grand Am, had been stolen earlier that day. Youngstown police found the car at Cooper and Campbell streets.
Youngstown police arrested Meta after surrounding a Hunter Street house and knocking on the door. Meta ran out a side door. Police found the keys to the stolen car on the kitchen table inside the house.
