Residents complain about messy property

Thursday, August 25, 2005

YOUNGSTOWN -- Residents who have tried without success for several months to have 345 W. Ravenwood Ave. cleaned up made their concerns known to police.
Patrolman Joe Moran said in his report that the "usual stripping of the house and squatting is now taking place and the citizens are trying to keep the street up before it looks like all the others in the area."
He said the grass and weeds are extremely high, rats are gathering, the west side foundation is buckling and the driveway is filled with trash, furniture, a mattress, building materials and more.
Moran's report was turned over to the health department and housing department on Wednesday. The report didn't indicate whether the house is vacant.
