Diane Farr is going from fighting fires to fighting crime.
Farr, who stars in FX's "Rescue Me," will join the cast of the second-year CBS drama "Numb3rs" this fall, the network says. She'll be featured in multiple episodes, including the first two, this season and could become a regular on the show.
Her character is a recent FBI academy graduate who joins the bureau's Los Angeles office and works with Agent Don Eppes (Rob Morrow). "Numb3rs" also stars David Krumholtz as Don's brother Charlie, a genius math professor who uses his skills to help the FBI break cases. She would essentially replace Sabrina Lloyd ("Sports Night"), who has left the show.
Farr guest-starred in the final episodes of "Rescue Me" last season before becoming a regular this year as Laura, 62 Truck's first female firefighter. She previously co-starred with "Rescue Me" co-creator Denis Leary in ABC's "The Job" and in The WB comedy "Like Family" two seasons back.
Her other credits include co-hosting MTV's "Loveline" and recurring parts on "The Drew Carey Show" and "Roswell."
