Shooting victim transferred to UPMC in critical condition

YOUNGSTOWN -- A city man was transferred Sunday to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh in critical condition after being treated at St. Elizabeth Health Center for a gunshot wound to his head.
According to a report, Ronald Justice, 20, of Quinn Street was shot shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday. He was the front passenger in a Chevy Cavalier traveling south on Rush Boulevard when a light-skinned black man wearing a white tank top and black baseball cap opened fire on the vehicle as it traveled near Rush Boulevard and Lucius Avenue, a report shows.
Another man in the car, the victim's brother, told police he and Justice were picked up by a man who was an acquaintance of theirs. The witness, however, did not know the driver's name, according to the report.
After the shooting, the driver went to a residence in the 100 block of Clarencedale Avenue, where police found Justice slumped in his seat and bleeding heavily. The driver fled from the vehicle, the report shows.
Police found a cracked window and a large amount of blood on the seat and floor near the victim. A bullet appears to have entered through a vent window, the report says.
Police determined the shooting took place near Rush and Judson Avenue. Also on the scene were members of the crime lab and the Boardman Police Department's K-9 unit.
Police had no suspects as of Sunday evening.
