CRAFT SHOWS
XApplications are available for the 14th annual craft show at St. Jude Church, 180 Seventh St., Columbiana, to be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 19 sponsored by St. Jude Women's Guild. Hand-crafted and homemade items will be featured, and a Chinese Auction, bake sale and raffle are planned. A lunch counter with a varied menu will include vegetable beef soup. XLocal crafters are needed for St. Vincent de Paul Women's Guild arts and crafts show to be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 10 at the church hall, 4453 Warren-Sharon Road, Vienna. Cost for renting an 8-foot table is $15. Anyone interested in setting up a craft table should call Carol Wise at (330) 637-0816.
XCraft vendors are needed for the 3rd annual craft show at Maranatha Church, 3570 Elm Road N.E., Cortland, to be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sept. 24. The event will include food, a bake sale, crafts, entertainment and a Chinese auction. Admission is free. Call (330) 399-1812 for information.
FUND-RAISERS
XA trash and treasure sale will be held by Lippy Group for Ear, Nose and Throat, North Mar Center, 3893 East Market St., Warren, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 17, rain or shine, to raise money for American Cancer Society Relay for Life.
XRotary Club of Warren is hosting a chocolate festival from 4 to 8 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Avalon Inn Ballroom in Howland. All proceeds will benefit the Children's Rehabilitation Center. Festivities will include sampling of chocolate from local businesses, a Chinese auction, silent auction and an assortment of activities for children. Any business interested in being a chocolate vendor or donating items for the auction, or anyone wanting to purchase tickets, call Stephanie Shaw at (330) 841-1222.
XWarren Harley Owner's Group and Warren Harley Davidson are sponsoring the annual Harley Night in the Park from 4 to 10 p.m. Sept. 10 at Courthouse Square Park in Warren. Events include a bike show, rodeo games, awards, food and music. The entry fee is $5, and a slow race on bicycles will be held for children. Proceeds will benefit the Multiple Sclerosis Agency.
SALES
XA "Treasures In Your Trunk" sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 15 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4490 Norquest Blvd., Austintown, sponsored by the Altar and Rosary Society. Participants will sell all items from their trunks; no tables are to be set up outside the car. Included will be a bake sale, Chinese auction, 50-50 raffle, hot dogs and soda for sale, and a cornstalk and pumpkin sale. Cost is $10 per car and $20 per van, truck or SUV. To reserve a spot, checks payable to IHM Altar and Rosary Society should be mailed to church office, c/o the Treasure Sale. There will be no refunds.
SPECIAL EVENTS
XOld Springfield United Church of Christ, state Route 170, south of New Middletown, will hold a Community Fun Day from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. There will be free food, clowns and games.
XCanfield Swim and Tennis Club's Swim Club is sponsoring a back-to-school buffet breakfast for mothers who survived the summer. The event will be held from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Sept. 13 at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield. The buffet will feature omelets, cheese blintzes with strawberries, bacon, fruit, pastries and beverages. There will be a Chinese auction.
