Michigan man convicted of drug charges



NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Ronald D. Harris, 20, of 4352 Gray St., Detroit, Mich., was convicted of drug offenses in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.
County District Attorney Matthew T. Mangino said Friday that Harris was convicted Wednesday of possession of a controlled substance; possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, a felony; and criminal trespass, a felony.
He had been arrested March 30 in possession of 43 rocks of crack cocaine. Harris, who remains in the Lawrence County Jail, faces a maximum of seventeen years in prison and fines totaling $115,000, Mangino said.
The jury trial began on Monday and was presided over by Judge J. Craig Cox. Assistant District Attorney Diane Shaffer tried the case on behalf of the state. Harris will be sentenced within 60 days.
