Curt Schilling will move back into the Boston rotation on Thursday.

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Rookie Ervin Santana took a two-hit shutout into the eighth inning, and the Los Angeles Angels beat the Boston Red Sox 4-2 Saturday in a matchup of AL division leaders.
The loss was the sixth in 22 games for the Red Sox, who lead the New York Yankees by three games in the AL East. Boston will move Curt Schilling back into the rotation Thursday night in Kansas City, ending his inconsistent stint as the team's closer.
Santana (7-5) gave up five hits and two runs in 7 2-3 innings. Scot Shields allowed a two-run single to Edgar Renteria before striking out David Ortiz with two on to end the eighth.
Francisco Rodriguez worked the ninth for his 28th save.
The Angels took a 2-0 lead against Bronson Arroyo (10-8) in the third when Darin Erstad hit a two-out RBI single and Orlando Cabrera also scored on an error by center fielder Johnny Damon.

CHICAGO -- Shawn Chacon throttled Chicago's punchless offense and Alex Rodriguez hit a two-run double as New York sent the White Sox to their seventh straight loss.
Chacon (2-1) allowed four hits in eight sharp innings for his second straight win, and the Yankees again beat former teammate Orlando Hernandez, who had a frustrating day.
El Duque was warned for throwing a pitch behind Rodriguez, committed his first two errors in 109 games and was also called for a balk. He gave up six hits and five runs -- four earned -- in six-plus innings.
Hernandez (8-6) lost to his former team for the second time this month. He's dropped three straight starts and five of six decisions.
Chicago has scored two runs in the last 36 innings, and the AL Central leaders have lost 15 of 21 home games.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Jorge Cantu homered and tied a career high with four RBIs, and Scott Kazmir allowed one run in six innings as the Tampa Bay Devil Rays beat the Texas Rangers 4-2 on Saturday night.
Cantu hit a two-run homer in the fourth and drove in two more runs with a single one inning later. He has a team-best 19 homers and 81 RBIs.
Kazmir (7-8) equaled a career best with 10 strikeouts. The 21-year-old left-hander allowed four hits and two walks.
Chad Orvella, Joe Borowski and Danys Baez, who pitched the ninth for his 28th save, completed Tampa Bay's fourth straight win. The Devil Rays have won seven of eight and are 22-12 since the All-Star break.
Gary Matthews and Alfonso Soriano homered for Texas, making the Rangers the third major league team with 200 homers in five consecutive seasons. The Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees both entered 2005 with five-year streaks.
The Rangers are 1-11 on a 13-game road trip, the first time they have lost more than 10 times on any trip.
Seth McClung and two relievers limited the Rangers to three hits in the Devil Rays' 2-1 win on Friday. Texas didn't get a hit off Kazmir until Kevin Mench grounded a single to left with two outs in the fourth.
Cantu put the Devil Rays up 2-0 with his two-run homer in the fourth. It came on the first pitch after Carl Crawford drew a leadoff walk from Joaquin Benoit (3-3).
Tampa Bay went up 4-0 in the fifth on Cantu's two-run single. He has driven in 50 runs in his last 54 games.
Matthews hit his career-best 15th homer in the sixth and Soriano connected for his 30th in the ninth.
Benoit gave up four runs and six hits in five innings. He struck out three and walked two.
