INDIANAPOLIS -- Chet Cooper of Canfield will be one of the umpires at tonight's Little League Baseball Midwest regional final that will be televised on ESPN at 7 p.m.

PITTSBURGH -- Right wing Colby Armstrong, who didn't miss a single game with the minor-league's Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins last season, has re-signed with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Court rules to release Paterno's salary
HARRISBURG, Pa. -- The public has a right to know Penn State football coach Joe Paterno's salary, a divided Commonwealth Court panel ruled Friday.
The State Employees' Retirement System board correctly decided last year that a newspaper reporter could see salary information for Paterno and other high-ranking university officials, the court said in a 3-2 decision.
Jan Murphy of The Patriot-News of Harrisburg had asked for documents that reflect years of service, salary and salary history for Paterno, Penn State's coach since 1966, and three other Penn State administrators.
The court rejected Penn State's argument that the information should not be disclosed because doing so could compromise personal security.
Coaches setstrike deadline
HARRISBURG, Pa. -- The union that represents coaches at Pennsylvania's 14 state-owned universities set a strike date, but declined to reveal what it is.
The union's eight-member executive council would give 48 hours' notice before its 360 nonfaculty coaches walk off the job, said union president Pat Heilman Friday.
She revealed only that the strike, which would be a first among college coaches, would occur before the end of football season.

MAR DEL PLATA, Argentina -- Levon Kendall scored a tournament-high 40 points and Canada upset the United States 93-90 in overtime Friday, dashing American hopes of a second straight men's Under 21 basketball world championship.
The United States (5-1) will play today in the fifth-place game against Puerto Rico, an unexpected 88-63 loser to Greece.
Sharapova willbecome No. 1 soon
CARSON, Calif. -- Maria Sharapova is on her way to becoming No. 1 in the world. She'll have to put the celebration on hold for another 10 days, though.
Sharapova withdrew from the JPMorgan Chase Open because of a strained chest muscle Friday, postponing her move from No. 2 into the top spot. The tournament's top seed was scheduled to play ninth-seeded Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia in an evening quarterfinal match.
A victory would have given the 18-year-old Russian enough points to overtake injured American Lindsay Davenport as No. 1.
