August 13, 1980: The manager of a Las Vegas hotel reports that 100 reservations for Centennial Sunshine tours were canceled when the travel agent failed to pay the required deposit. Some 100 Youngstowners booked on a tour to Las Vegas were left standing at Youngstown Municipal Airport when the chartered plane that was supposed to take them to Vegas never showed up.

The Mahoning County Bar Association will investigate a claim that two men who are not lawyers claimed $416 from a widow who received $1,200 in settlement of a claim against a trucking company in the death of her 4-year-old son who was run over and killed by a truck.
