MERCER COUNTY Health groups will hold initial meeting

FARRELL, Pa. -- Mercer County School Health Advisory Council, in partnership with the Community Health Partnership of Mercer County, the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the American Cancer Society, will have its inaugural meeting and information session from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at UPMC Horizon, conference room 4, 2200 Memorial Drive.
Representatives from the Mercer County school districts will discuss an upcoming mandate that could possibly affect their federal funding.
Education sessions also will be presented on the partnership that has taken place to form the Mercer County School Health Advisory Council, along with information on wellness policies, school health councils and funding sources.
