D.C. United defeats Chivas USA

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Santino Quaranta and Jamil Walker scored within a two-minute span in the first half and the D.C. United went on to beat Chivas USA 3-0 on Saturday, despite playing without the suspended Jaime Moreno and the injured Freddy Adu.
Dema Kovalenko provided the game's final margin with in the 63rd minute as United (11-6-5) won its fourth-straight and eighth in its past 11 games.
Moreno, Major League Soccer's third-leading scorer, was forced to sit out the game after being ejected in the United's 3-0 win over the MetroStars on Wednesday. United also played its second-straight game without Adu, who is out two to four weeks with a sprained knee.
United opened the game's scoring when Bobby Boswell fed Quaranta for his first goal of the season in the 41st minute.
Walker split the Chivas USA defense and beat goalkeeper Brad Guzan for his first goal of the season 1:28 later. The goal by Walker, who was starting in place of Moreno, was set up on a cross by Kovalenko.
