Twelve people were sentenced for a variety of offenses.
MERCER, Pa.-- A Sharon man will serve six to 12 months in jail followed by 18 months' probation for pointing a loaded handgun at a woman at a Sharon bar.
Mercer Common Pleas Court Judge Thomas Dobson sentenced Kurtis Samuels, 26, of George Street, to the term for terroristic threats, simple assault and possession of a controlled substance, all misdemeanors, and for carrying firearms without a license, a felony.
According to court documents, on Oct. 18, 2004, Samuels hit and pushed a woman and pointed a .45-caliber semi-automatic pistol at her in Roamer's Hotel Bar, Roemer Boulevard, Farrell. Samuels had no license for the gun and was also found in possession of crack cocaine.

UJames Blackmon Jr. was sentenced to six to 23 months in jail for misdemeanor retail theft, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief. According to court documents, on Dec. 1, 2004, at Shop 'N Save, 2199 E. State St., Hermitage, Blackmon struggled with a security guard and struck him in the face when the guard tried to detain him. Blackmon also damaged four display plants and a soft drink machine. He was given 72 days credit for time already served.
URichard Coleman, 38, of Parke Drive, Hermitage, was sentenced to nine to 24 months in prison for retail theft. He was given 67 days credit for time served. According to court documents, on Oct. 4, 2004, he stole items valued at $53.55 from a Sharon drug store.
UElizabeth Downing, 44, of Holly Lane, Hermitage, was ordered to perform 50 hours of community service and make restitution for accidents involving damage to an attended vehicle, a misdemeanor. According to court documents, on Aug. 6, 2004, Downing was driving at an unsafe speed when she was involved in an accident that injured another person. She failed to stop and exchange information or render aid.
ULeonard Gill, 21, was placed on two years' probation for criminal conspiracy to forgery, a felony. He also was ordered to make restitution. According to court documents, on July 23, 2004, Gill conspired with another man to forge $920 worth of checks using the account number of a woman at First National Bank in Hempfield Township.
UJessica Goodspeed, 21, of North High Street, Greenville, was sentenced to six months' house arrest and ordered to perform 50 hours of community service for receiving stolen property, a misdemeanor. On June 4, 2004, according to court documents, she was found with stolen items.
UMarianne Hofing, 53, of Manor View Drive, Greenville, was placed on 24 months' probation and ordered to serve 150 hours of community service for theft by unlawful taking, a felony. She also was ordered to make restitution. According to court documents, on June 19, 2004, Hofing stole $5,000 worth of merchandise from Kaufmann's, 3515 E. State St., Hermitage.
UEric Mockabee Sr., 34, of Wakefield Drive, Sharpsville, was sentenced to three to 12 months' house arrest for two counts of misdemeanor simple assault. He also was placed on 12 months' probation for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor. According to court documents, on Oct. 28, 2004, at a Dutch Lane address in Hermitage, he repeatedly punched a woman and a man. On the same day he was apprehended on Highland Road, Hermitage, in a car he was using without the owner's permission.
UAnthony Nguyn, 20, of New Castle Avenue, Sharon, was placed on 23 months' probation for carrying a firearm without a license, a felony. On July 31, 2004, court documents state he was apprehended in the 200 block of Mesabi Street, Sharon, while carrying a .25-caliber handgun without a license.
UDonald Reisinger, 57, of Meek Street, Sharon, was placed on 24 months' probation with nine months' house arrest for misdemeanor indecent assault. According to court documents, in May and June, 2004, he engaged in sexual contact with a 15-year-old girl at a Brooklyn Street address in Sharon and gave the girl money and gifts.
UDaniel Webster, 22, of Georgetown Road, Harrisville, was sentenced to one to 23 months in jail for concealment of the whereabouts of a child, a felony. According to court documents, on July 20, 2004, he took a 16-year-old girl from her Coolspring Township residence without her parent's permission and traveled with her to New Jersey.
UDavid Wike, 24, of Centertown Road, Grove City, was placed on three years' probation for identify theft and access device fraud, both misdemeanors. Court documents state he used identification information from another man without his consent to obtain a credit card. Then he accessed a financial Web site and provided false information to open a fraudulent account. The same day he used an equity card to withdraw $2,601 without the owner's permission.
