Bodies of man, woman found in car in river
LEECHBURG, Pa. (AP) -- The bodies of a man and a woman who were last seen five days ago were found in a sedan floating in the Allegheny River on Friday.
State police on Friday afternoon used tow trucks to pull the white sedan out of the river, where it was floating just offshore near an industrial park in Gilpin Township, Armstrong County, about 25 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.
State police and Armstrong County Coroner Robert Bower identified the bodies as those of Eric John Roberts, 46, of Export, and Lisa LeAnn Westwood, 36, of Schenley. State police Trooper Joe Murphy said the two were last seen Monday evening at a bar in nearby Allegheny Township, Westmoreland County.
Murphy and Bower said there were no visible signs of trauma on the bodies. Murphy said nothing initially appeared to be wrong with the car, which Roberts had borrowed from his boss.
