Red Sox 10, Devil Rays 0
BOSTON -- David Wells pitched seven innings in his first Fenway Park start for the Red Sox, and David Ortiz hit a grand slam. The Red Sox broke the game open with seven runs in the second on Mark Bellhorn's two-run double, Manny Ramirez's bases-loaded walk and Ortiz's line drive into the right-field seats. Wells (1-2) allowed six hits and struck out three for his first win in six starts dating to Sept. 18 with San Diego. Hideo Nomo (1-1) allowed eight runs on five hits and five walks in two innings.
Orioles 8, Yankees 1
BALTIMORE -- Bruce Chen pitched a four-hitter, and Miguel Tejada and Sammy Sosa hit successive homers to spark a seven-run sixth inning. Tejada and Sosa each had two hits and three RBIs, and Brian Roberts went 3-for-5 to lift his batting average to .429. Chen (1-0) struck out three and walked one in his second career complete game. The left-hander retired the first seven batters and 11 straight before Hideki Matsui singled in the seventh. Carl Pavano (0-2) was pitching for the first time since being struck in the head by a liner off the bat of Baltimore's Melvin Mora on April 10. The right-hander yielded seven runs, three earned, and seven hits in 5 2/3 innings.
Rangers 4, Blue Jays 2
ARLINGTON, Texas -- Ryan Drese pitched eight innings and Michael Young homered and drove in three runs for Texas. Drese (1-1) allowed two runs and six hits. He retired 13 in a row from the third through the seventh. Francisco Cordero got his fourth save in six chances. Mark Teixeira also homered for Texas. Ted Lilly (0-1) allowed three runs and five hits over five innings for Toronto.
White Sox 6, Mariners 4
CHICAGO -- Jon Garland retired the first 19 batters and allowed just two hits in seven innings for Chicago. Garland (2-0) lost his bid for a perfect game when he walked Jeremy Reed on a 3-2 pitch with one out in the seventh. Adrian Beltre followed with a single up the middle on a 1-2 pitch for Seattle's first hit. Chicago's Juan Uribe drove in four runs with a two-run homer, a single and a sacrifice fly. Jermaine Dye added a solo shot. Dustin Hermanson finished for his second save. Bret Boone drove in all four Seattle runs with two two-run singles. Joel Pineiro (0-1) allowed five runs and seven hits in 5 2/3 innings.
Royals 6, Tigers 5
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Angel Berroa hit a two-run homer in the eighth inning to cap Kansas City's comeback from a five-run deficit. Berroa, who also singled and doubled, hit an 0-1 pitch from Ugueth Urbina (1-1) after Eli Marrero drew a two-out walk. Jaime Cerda (1-1) got the win with one inning of hitless relief. Jeremy Affeldt got the first two outs in the ninth and left with an apparent injury after walking Brandon Inge. Mike MacDougal got the final out for his first save. Craig Monroe's three-run homer capped a five-run first inning for the Tigers.

Mets 4, Marlins 0
NEW YORK -- Aaron Heilman threw a one-hitter for his first complete game and Mike Piazza broke out of a slump with three RBIs to lead New York to its fifth straight victory. Piazza doubled twice off Josh Beckett (2-1). Heilman (1-1) gave up just an infield single to Luis Castillo in the fourth. Heilman struck out seven and walked three. Piazza, batting just .148 with one RBI in the first nine games, drove in two runs on a fifth-inning double after Marlins first baseman Carlos Delgado made two errors on one play.
Astros 11, Reds 2
CINCINNATI -- Jason Lane homered twice, driving in a career-high five runs for Houston, and Roy Oswalt improved to 13-0 against Cincinnati. The Astros won their 12th straight game against Cincinnati. Oswalt gave up five hits in seven innings, joining Pedro Martinez as the only pitchers in the majors to go 13-0 against an opponent. Martinez has won all of his decisions against Seattle. Lane hit a two-run homer and a three-run shot off Paul Wilson (0-1), who has failed to win any of his three tries at the top of the rotation. The Astros scored more than five runs for the first time this season, a welcome outburst for a pitcher who spent the week trying to get healthy.
Braves 11, Phillies 4
PHILADELPHIA -- Raul Mondesi and Rafael Furcal each hit two home runs, Adam LaRoche added a two-run shot for Atlanta. Furcal went 3-for-4 and scored four runs, and Brian Jordan had a three-run double to help the Braves snap a two-game losing streak. Horacio Ramirez (1-0) lasted 5 1/3 innings for Atlanta, allowing three runs on six hits. Atlanta manager Bobby Cox earned career win No. 2,008, tying him with Leo Durocher for eighth place on the career list. The Braves got to Gavin Floyd (1-1) with a four-run first and chased him in the fourth.
Cardinals 3, Brewers 0
MILWAUKEE -- Jeff Suppan took a five-hitter into the ninth inning and Albert Pujols homered for St. Louis. Suppan (1-1) struck out three and walked two in 8 1/3 innings. Jason Isringhausen got the final two outs for his third save. Ben Sheets (1-2) went 7 1/3 innings, allowing three runs, two earned, and five hits. He struck out seven and walked one. Albert Pujols hit his second home run of the season, a solo shot off Sheets in the fourth.
Giants 13, Rockies 6
DENVER -- Pedro Feliz hit a grand slam and drove in a career-high five runs and Noah Lowry pushed his undefeated streak to 22 for San Francisco. Marquis Grissom hit a two-run homer and had three hits, J.T. Snow was 3-for-5 and drove in two runs for the Giants. Clint Barmes was 4-for-5 with two homers and career-high four RBIs, and Preston Wilson also homered for Colorado, which couldn't overcome Jamey Wright's shaky start despite 14 hits. Lowry (1-0) gave up nine hits and six runs in 5 2/3 innings in his first start at Coors Field, remaining undefeated in 16 career starts because the Giants staked him to an eight-run lead by the fourth inning.
