POLICE CALLS A summary of recent criminal activity in Girard and Liberty:

GIRARD
April 10
Theft: A man reported his cellular phone stolen from his residence in the 100 block of Crumlin Avenue.
Damage: A Youngstown man visiting a home in the 40 block of South Davis Street noticed his car's driver's-side mirror was broken and pushed backward.
Vandalism: A man discovered three landscaping lights had been kicked over at his residence in the 300 block of East Prospect Avenue.
Damage: A woman in the 400 block of Iowa Avenue noticed five BB holes in the side of her swimming pool.
Theft: A woman called police after several medications were missing from a shelf in her dining room in the 80 block of Smithsonian Avenue.
April 11
Possible theft: A man in the 50 block of Ella Avenue discovered his wallet and two coin purses lost or stolen from his home.
Criminal mischief: A man in the 200 block of East Kline Street and a neighbor reported someone in a white Saturn got out and fired a BB gun at the man's home before speeding away.
Arrest: After receiving a call about a man carrying a knife, officers arrested a Girard man at Tom's Automotive Inc., 935 N. State St. He was charged with carrying a concealed weapon.
LIBERTY
April 5
Arrest: Police took into custody a 37-year-old Youngstown woman housed at the Mahoning County jail. She was wanted on a warrant from Liberty charging her with receiving stolen property and theft.
Assault: A Youngstown woman told police her daughter, 14, was assaulted by another student at Liberty High School, 1 Leopard Way. The girl had minor scratches.
Theft/criminal damaging: A Boardman man found his vehicle had been broken into while he shopped at Giant Eagle, 4700 Belmont Ave. A $350 compact-disc player, a green suitcase and about $1,500 worth of clothing were taken.
Recovered property: Police recovered a $150 bicycle, stolen in Youngstown, near the Liberty Mini Mart, 3007 Belmont Ave.
Criminal damaging: An employee at the Holiday Inn MetroPlex, 1620 Motor Inn Drive, discovered a panel beneath her vehicle's steering column was damaged.
April 6
Forgery: An employee at US Bank, 4700 Belmont Ave., told police two people presented a $6,650 check and that one of them claimed it was for his mother. The two left when the teller learned the check had been forged, and the bank lost no money.
Theft: A Hubbard boy reported two bookbags, several textbooks and various papers stolen from a bleachers area while he participated in a baseball game at a field near the former high school, 317 Church Hill-Hubbard Road.
Theft/criminal damaging: A Hubbard man left Giant Eagle and saw another man removing items from the victim's vehicle. The man found a driver's-side window had been smashed and a $300 stereo/CD player was pulled out.
April 7
Theft: An employee at the Tallyho-tel, 4249 Belmont Ave., noticed a $150, 19-inch TV missing from a room.
Theft: A Warren man discovered someone gained entry to a filing cabinet at Squeaky Kleen Custodial Services on Tibbets-Wick Road and removed $900.
Theft: A Girard woman realized her purse containing $15 and various prescription medications was missing from a shopping cart while she was at Giant Eagle.
April 8
Theft: A Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, man discovered his vehicle's window was smashed and a $50 briefcase was stolen while he was on Belmont Avenue.
Theft: Police issued a summons to a 49-year-old Youngstown man on a theft charge after 13 packages of lighters, two packages of batteries and 10 packages of candy were taken from Big Lots and U.S. Factory Outlets, 3495 and 3491 Belmont Ave. The theft came to $59.31.
Arrests: After responding to a Tuttle Drive residence in reference to a runaway juvenile, officers cited two Girard women, 19 and 20, on charges of obstructing official business after they say the pair deliberately withheld information about the juvenile. Police also arrested a 22-year-old Girard woman wanted on a warrant from Newton Falls charging her with failure to appear on a probation-violation charge.
Auto theft: A couple in the 1300 block of Church Hill-Hubbard Road discovered their 2000 Buick LeSabre missing from their driveway.
April 9
Domestic violence: After responding to a disturbance at Choice's Niteclub, 1620 Motor Inn Drive, police arrested a 33-year-old Youngstown man on a domestic-violence charge. The suspect's former girlfriend alleged he dragged her by the arm into the parking lot and threw her to the ground as they argued. The woman's left elbow was scraped.
APRIL 11
Breaking and entering: Someone broke into a doctor's office in the 10 block of Colonial Drive and kicked in an office door before removing $180.
Theft: An Austintown man discovered his $150 cellular phone missing while he was at the Goodwill store, 2747 Belmont Ave.
Criminal damaging: A woman in the 3000 block of Northgate Drive found a tire on her vehicle had been punctured, resulting in $60 worth of damage.
Criminal damaging: An employee at an Akron company discovered someone smashed windows and damaged lights on several pieces of construction equipment at a site near the state Route 711 interchange and Trumbull Avenue. Damage was estimated at $8,000.
Burglary: A man noticed someone had entered his residence in the 100 block of Church Hill-Hubbard Road through the front door and ransacked the living room. Two 12-inch speakers, a videocassette recorder, a DVD player, a TV and other items were stolen, for a loss of $840.
Theft: An employee at American Prime, 1057 Trumbull Ave., reported a man, 27, failed to return a $200 freezer and about $1,000 worth of meat products.
