NORTH LIMA -- Cindy Schuller singled home Heather Stacy in the bottom of the eighth inning for South Range. Stacy, who had three hits including a double and triple, led off the eighth with a single, moved to second on a infield out and scored on Schuller's second single of the game. Skye Walley pitched the victory, while Stacy also drove in a pair of runs as the Raiders improved to 2-7 overall and 2-3 in the Inter-County League). Brittni Rummell had a triple and three RBIs for Jackson-Milton (4-3, 2-2).
Lowellville 10, McDonald 4
LOWELLVILLE -- The Rockets (6-4, 3-2 ICL) erupted for eight runs in the fifth inning to put the game out of reach. Juli Peterson hit three doubles, drove in two runs and scored twice for Lowellville. Kathy Peterson hit a triple and triple, double and drove in two runs. Carla Blinsky (4-4) pitched a complete game with six strikeouts to pick up the win. Courtney Vitullo hit a double, single and drove in three runs for the Blue Devils (4-6, 0-4).
Springfield 7, Struthers 1
NEW MIDDLETOWN -- Colleen Platt (3-0) came on in relief in the third inning and finished the contest to pick up the win. She struck out five and allowed Struthers' only hit a double in the third inning. Courtney Sheely hit a triple, double and single to spark the Tigers.
Ursuline 12, Beaver Local 5
VIENNA -- Maureen Cearfoss (6-3) scattered five hits and struck out seven to pick up the win for the Irish (6-3, 3-0 Steel Valley Conference). Alessandra Parry of the Irish hit a triple, three singles and drove in three runs. Jolanta Carkido added a double and two singles and Ashley Seiembieda and Mary Hendricks each had two singles.
Mooney 20, Campbell 1
YOUNGSTOWN -- Gina Brunetti homered to lead an 11-hit attack for Mooney (6-4). Veronica Skowron had two hits for the Cardinals, including a triple. Lauren Drummond and DiAndra Fibacco also hit three-baggers, while Mallory Yucchino and Christie Lacivita both doubled. Mooney freshman Chrissy Cormell started and was the winning pitcher. She had three strikeouts and combined with Monique Irwin on a three-hitter.
Hubbard 6, Girard 2
HUBBARD -- Hubbard led 5-0 after two innings in a Trumbull Athletic Conference game. Stephanie Zunyk had two hits for the Eagles (5-4, 3-1 TAC), while Tressa Scahill tripled and Danielle DeJulio and Kim Budd both doubled. Gabby Flynn (5-2) scattered eight hits. Kelley Bondor had four hits, all singles, for Girard (3-8, 1-3), while Jami Millerleile doubled. On Tuesday, Hubbard defeated Chaney. Callie Oyler and Zubyk had five hits each, and Flynn had four hits and four RBIs.
Mathews 4, Badger 1
KINSMAN -- Sophmore Caitlyn Youngs pitched a two-hitter and struck out 15 batters to lead Mathews. Youngs also had two hits along with Sarah King, Amber Jarvis and Jenna Manz, while McKenzie Brown drove in a pair of runs. Mathews improved to 5-3.
Py Valley 7, Southington 2
SOUTHINGTON -- Kim Vangissen had a pair of hits and sparked Py Valley past Southington. The Lakers scored five of their seven runs in the final two innings to improve to 5-2. Southington is winless in six games.
