Canfield and Howland also posted Metro Athletic Conference wins.
NILES -- Ashley Conger and Kari Thompson each had three hits with two RBIs Tuesday to lead the unbeaten Poland High softball team to a 5-2 victory over Niles at Waddell Park.
Conger, Thompson and Ciera Urichich doubled for the Bulldogs (10-0, 3-0 Metro Athletic Conference). Winning pitcher Jenna Susany improved to 2-0.
For the Red Dragons (4-4, 0-2), Rachel Mishko and Kelly Leonard had RBIs.
Canfield 9, Salem 0
SALEM -- Freshman Lauren Sulick (4-0) struck out 15 batters in a three-hitter.
Jena Ervin led the Cardinals (9-1, 4-0 MAC) with a homer and triple that produced three RBIs. Ashley Bleggi tripled while Bryanne Halfhill and Danielle Spencer had two hits and two runs scored.
For Salem, Bridget Szabat singled twice.
Howland 12, Struthers 1
STRUTHERS -- Amy Cornicelli's four hits included a home run and produced four RBIs for the Tigers (5-2, 2-0 MAC).
Carly Sabat also drove in four runs with three hits including a double.
Gia Palhoulis and Christina Morrell had two hits for the Tigers.
For the Wildcats (2-6, 0-5), Michelle High's two hits included a double.
Fitch 6, Massillon Jackson 1
AUSTINTOWN -- Winning pitcher Jen Purnell (3-1) struck out 11 Polar Bears and hit a double.
Kate Ferree's two hits included a double and drove in two runs for the Falcons (3-1, 2-1 Federal League). Nicole Smaldino and Staci Balkan tripled while Bre Alleman doubled.
Lake 1, Boardman 1
UNIONTOWN -- Danielle Burin's first-inning single was Boardman's only hit against Julie Boyes (4-0).
Boyes and Spartans (5-5, 1-2 Federal) pitcher Ashley DiDomenico (4-3) each had five strikeouts and no walks.
The Blue Streaks are 4-1, 3-0.
Mineral Ridge 12, Bristol 8
BRISTOLVILLE -- The Rams (6-3) scored at least one run in every inning but the third in rout to the victory.
Chelsea Fridley hit a 3-run home run in the first inning and the Rams never looked back.
The Rams' Katie Garland hit a triple and two singles, and drove in three runs. Jami Goodman hit three singles, while Heather Bcuckner and Melanie Clark each had two hits.
Girard 13, Warren JFK 12
WARREN -- The Indians (3-7) sent 11 batters to the plate as it came from behind to score seven runs in the top of the seventh inning.
Sarah Britt hit a double and two singles, while Erica Leskovec and Kelley Bondor added two hits apiece for the winners.
McDonald 16, Southington 2
SOUTHINGTON -- Winning pitcher Lauren Walls struck out six. She also hit a home run and two singles and drove in a run. Teammate Courtney Vitullo collected a pair of singles and drove in a run.
Brittanie Gillum led the Wildcats (0-5) with two singles.
Columbiana 9, Jackson-Milton 1
NORTH JACKSON -- Kylee Crittenden had four hits including two triples and three RBIs for Columbiana.
Stacie Cross, Jeni Fast and Cara Hardenbrook each added two hits for the Clippers (8-0). Kayla Seybert (4-0) had five strikeouts and four walks.
Krista Kiraly had two hits and an RBI.
Canton South 11, West Branch 1
BELOIT -- Holly Mellinger, Ali Edie and Jessica Early had the hits for the Warriors (2-6).
Southern 9, Wellsville 3
WELLSVILLE -- Hannah Crews picked up her first career win, striking out eight, for Southern.
Emily Ramsey, Laura Van Dyne and Ashley Bach each had two hits for the Indians. Ramsey had four stolen bases.
