April 4
Assault: Police arrested a 25-year-old man at his residence in the 1900 block of Boardman-Poland Road on an assault charge after a woman said she had been threatened in the parking lot during an argument. An investigation determined another man was assaulted during the same argument.
Drugs: A Youngstown man, 57, was arrested in the 5500 block of Market Street on a felony charge of drug abuse and one misdemeanor count of illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers say they found suspected cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
Bad checks: A 38-year-old Youngstown man housed at the Mahoning County jail was charged with passing bad checks. An employee at Uncle Bob's Self Storage, 446 Boardman-Canfield Road, reported receiving a $78.49 check later returned on a closed account.
Theft: Police arrested a 14-year-old Youngstown girl accused of taking $70 worth of jewelry from Kaufmann's in the Southern Park Mall.
Attempted breaking and entering: A worker at a doctor's office in the 30 block of Boardman-Poland Road called police after finding two rear doors had been damaged when someone tried to break in.

Theft: Police arrested a 24-year-old Westbury, N.Y., man near the Microtel Inn, 7393 South Ave., on a theft charge after two scanner pricing guns valued at $1,200 were stolen from Kaufmann's. He also was charged with resisting arrest.
Arrest: A man, 32, was arrested at his home in the 1900 block of Boardman-Poland Road on an aggravated-menacing charge after a woman reported being threatened while in a nearby parking lot.
Arrest: Police arrested a 19-year-old Struthers man at Boardman High School, 7777 Glenwood Ave. He faced a charge of carrying a concealed weapon.
Theft: A Boardman man reported the theft of a $249 cellular phone while he was at the YMCA, 45 McClurg Road.
Theft: A Boardman woman reported her purse stolen while she shopped at Home Depot, 7001 Southern Blvd.
Criminal damaging: A woman in the 100 block of Shields Road discovered damage to her vehicle's antenna and a rear window totaling $200.
Aggravated robbery: An employee at Perkins Family Restaurant, 804 Boardman-Poland Road, told police someone with a gun grabbed her hand and pushed her from a cash register before taking an undetermined amount of money.

Theft: A 29-year-old Salem woman was arrested after someone took a pack of cigarettes from Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Arrests: While investigating a suspicious-person report at the Travelers Inn, 6110 Market St., police say they discovered several underage people drinking inside a room as well as a bag of suspected marijuana. They arrested a Boardman man, 19, and an Austintown boy, 16. The man was charged with drug abuse (marijuana), sale of liquor to an underage person and contributing to the unruliness/delinquency of a minor; the boy faced a charge of underage consumption and a curfew violation.
Theft: A man in the 100 block of Overhill Drive discovered two phone accounts that he never opened on his credit report and a debt totaling $1,009.
Vandalism: An employee at Mother Goose Preschool, 8061 Market St., found that a 9-foot-by-6-foot tinted window was broken, resulting in $500 worth of damage.
Breaking and entering: Police discovered Paul's Tire and Smoke Shop, 4852 Southern Blvd., was the victim of an attempted burglary when $250 in damage was done to a side window and frame.

Theft: A 46-year-old Boardman man was arrested after three packs of cigarettes were taken from Giant Eagle, 1201 Doral Drive.
Theft: Officers arrested a 37-year-old Youngstown man after someone stole four tools from Sears valued at $400.
Criminal damaging: A woman noticed the exterior cable box at her residence in the 800 block of Cedar Way was damaged.
Theft/forgery: A woman reported six checks and her ATM card missing from her home in the 1900 block of Wolosyn Circle. She later found out the card was used without permission.
Theft: A customer left a Shell station, 1510 Boardman-Canfield Road, without paying for $28 worth of gasoline.
Criminal mischief: A woman noticed someone had tossed eggs at her car parked in front of her home in the 700 block of Crestview Drive.
Theft/criminal damaging: A Poland man discovered his vehicle had been broken into while he was at Cinemark Movies 8, 469 Boardman-Poland Road. A $150 in-dash compact-disc player was removed.
April 8
Bad checks: A 35-year-old Salem woman wanted on a warrant from Boardman charging her with passing bad checks was picked up in Salem. An employee at Outdoor Recreational Equipment, 5316 Market St., reported receiving a $44.35 bad check.
Theft: Two Warren men, 32 and 40, faced one felony count each of theft after an employee at Kohl's, 383 Boardman-Poland Road, reported a $570 vacuum cleaner stolen. One of the suspects also was wanted on a warrant from Trumbull County charging him with theft as well as on a warrant from Mercer, Pa., charging him with theft of drugs.
Theft: A 13-year-old Youngstown boy was arrested after two earrings valued at $20 were taken from the J.C. Penney store in the Southern Park Mall.
Criminal damaging: An employee at Chuck E. Cheese, 521 Boardman-Poland Road, noticed $500 in damage had been done when a window was broken.
Theft: A New Wilmington, Pa., man reported the theft of a $450 newspaper box, two newspapers and $10 to $15 from The Mocha House, 7141 Tiffany Blvd.
Burglary: A man called police after someone broke into his apartment in the 7400 block of Huntington Drive through the front door. A computer, 60 DVDs and two firearms were stolen, for a loss of $4,475.
Theft/attempted theft: A woman in the 100 block of Lemans Drive discovered the tumblers were removed from her 1990 Olds Cutlass and that its steering column and ignition were damaged before someone tried to steal it. The victim's driver's license was missing.
Theft: A Boardman woman reported 30 glass door knobs, two copper light fixtures, two fireplace doors and two chandeliers stolen from a residence in the 300 block of West Midlothian Boulevard. The theft came to more than $3,000.
Assault: A Boardman School District employee reported a boy, 15, had been assaulted by another juvenile at Boardman Glenwood Middle School, 7635 Glenwood Ave. The victim lost consciousness for two to three minutes and suffered injuries to his head and face as well as bumps and bruises.
Theft/possible identity theft: An employee at Pax Wireless in the Southern Park Mall discovered $402 missing, and another worker told police he might be the victim of an identity-theft crime.
