YOUNGSTOWN -- Stefanie Grimaldi tossed a two-hitter and struck out three batters as Mooney High defeated Harding in a Steel Valley Conference game at Volney Rogers. Dana Palazzo hit two doubles, scored twice and drove in two runs for the Cardinals (4-3, 2-1). Gina Brunetti had two hits, two runs scored and a RBI. For Harding (3-4, 1-2), Taylor Cribley and Tashi Johnson had hits.
Ursuline 18, Warren JFK 4
WARREN -- Alessandra Parry homered, tripled, doubled and walked for the Irish (5-3, 2-0 SVC). Parry batted twice in Ursuline's eight-run second inning, leading off with a triple and then hitting a two-run double. She finished with three RBIs. Mary Alexander's two hits included a two-run double. Ashley Siembieda had a two-run double. Winning pitcher Maureen Cearfoss (5-3) had three hits and scored twice. Jenna Klempay had three hits and two RBIs. Angelina Joseph had two hits and two RBIs.
Poland 4, Niles 0
POLAND -- Kristy Hertz (5-0) tossed a two-hitter and had two hits for the Bulldogs (9-0, 2-0 Metro Athletic Conference). Emma Brenoel tripled and Kari Thompson doubled. Ashley Byrom gave up six hits and Erin Armstrong doubled for Niles (4-3).
Canfield 10, Salem 0
CANFIELD -- Freshman Tricia Bettura (3-0) pitched a two-hitter, had two hits and scored three runs for Canfield (8-1, 3-0 MAC). Kerrie Haurin tripled and scored twice while Courtney Porter doubled and drove in two runs. Jena Ervin had two hits and two runs. For Salem, Samatha Yeager and Rita Liggitt had singled.
Lowellville 1, Western Reserve 0
LOWELLVILLE -- Casey Wilson's bases-loaded single in the bottom of the seventh inning brought home the game's only run. Winning pitcher Carla Blinsky (3-4) scattered four hits, had two hits and scored the run. Juli Peterson's two hits included a double for the Rockets (5-4, 2-2 Inter-County League). Katie Harmon (3-2) struck out six batters for the Blue Devils (5-3, 1-2).
Springfield 11, McDonald 3
NEW MIDDLETOWN -- Ashley Fagnano had three hits including two doubles and scored three runs for the Tigers (6-1, 4-0 ICL). For Springfield, Krista Snyder (3-1) was the winning pitcher, Danielle DeWitt tripled and doubled, and Christy Warren doubled. McDonald is 3-5, 0-3.
Mineral Ridge 6, South Range 3
MINERAL RIDGE -- Katie Garland and Jamie Goodman each had three hits while January Golden had two for the Rams (5-3, 2-1 ICL). Heather Stacy had four hits while Kelcie Whitmer and Lynn O'Connell had two apiece for the Raiders (1-7, 1-3).
Chaney 15, Campbell 9
YOUNGSTOWN -- Sheila Kollar's four hits included a triple for the Cowgirls (2-3). Winning pitcher Terra Koontz struck out nine batters. Monica Miller had three hits while Mary Wheland and Stephanie Merrell had two. Merrell and Rachel Miller doubled. The Red Devils are 0-4.

CORTLAND -- Gabby Flynn's three hits included a triple for the Eagles. Callie Oyler and Carrie Gasser each had two hits including doubles. For the Bulldogs (3-3, 0-3 Trumbull Athletic Conference), Jen Baker had four hits and Brittney Bucco three.
