Salem trips Chaney, 7-6, on Kolich's sacrifice fly

Jarin Heath had three hits for the Quakers and scored the winning run.
SALEM -- Mark Kolich's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth inning scored Jarin Heath with the winning run Friday as the Salem High baseball team rallied past Chaney, 7-6.
Heath, who had three hits in the contest, tripled with one out in the inning and came home on Kolich's sacrifice fly to center.
Heath led the offense with two doubles and the triple, while Grant Sevek also tripled and Ben Miller added to hits for the Quakers (3-2).
Chaney, which scored all five of its runs in the first two innings, was led by Lou Kopachy with two hits including a double, while Joe Morales also doubled for the Cowboys (1-5).
Springfield 10, Poland 7
NEW SPRINGFIELD -- Melio Rios was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with two doubles and two RBIs as Springfield pounded out an easy win over Poland.
Zach DeShane added three hits including a double, while Aaron Wood had a double and triple for the Tigers, who improved to 6-1.
Tom Clayton added a double and triple to lead Poland, now 4-4.
Mooney 8, Campbell 3
STRUTHERS -- Winning pitcher Kyle McCarthy's three hits included a double for the Cardinals. Josh Moffie also doubled for Mooney.
For the Red Devils (3-3), Louie Sammonas and Nick Durkin had two hits each while Frasier Tirikos doubled.
Niles 18, Ursuline 6
STRUTHERS -- Brandon Miller (1-0) scattered six hits for the Red Dragons (4-2), who sent 14 batters to the plate in the first inning at Cene Park. Robbie Porter's three hits included a triple and drove in four runs.
Joe Rizzano's two hits included a double as he drove in two runs and scored three times. Mike Ruscitti scored four runs after three hits including a triple and two RBIs.
Andy Frasco and Andy Kopper doubled for the Irish ( 6-2).
Jackson-Milton 12,Lowellville 4
LOWELLVILLE -- Steve Bowles had three RBIs and Matt Shields had two for the Bluejays (4-2, 3-1 Inter-County League).
Matt Nagy doubled while Brad Moody was the winning pitcher.
South Range 10, Pymatuning Valley 2
STRUTHERS -- Ben Detwiler contributed a triple, two doubles and three RBIs for the Raiders (2-3) at Cene Park.
South Range turned the game into a rout by scoring eight runs in the third inning. Josh Less, Steve Bensinger and Eugene Leson each had two hits.
Less (1-0) allowed three hits in the six inning he pitched, striking out five and walking two.
Crestview 11, Sebring 1
COLUMBIANA -- Jordan Reynolds had three hits for the Rebels (1-2, 1-1 Tri-County League).
David Myers and Adam Thompson had two hits apiece, and Myers drove in two runs.
Conneaut 4, Maplewood 2
CONNEAUT -- Dan Morrison had four hits for the Rockets (2-1). Conneaut's (6-0) four runs were unearned.
