Goodyear will sponsor career day

AKRON -- For the fifth consecutive year, the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. will reach out and educate others.
Goodyear will host its Fifth Engineering Career Day for Young Women on April 30. It will take place at Goodyear's world headquarters in Akron.
The event, themed as "Picture Yourself as an Engineer," stresses the different disciplines that sprout from a basic engineering field.
"The program focuses on teaching students about engineering and careers that can be launched from an engineering background," said Karen Burkholder, event co-chairwoman.
Burkholder said participants will have the opportunity to talk to professionals from Goodyear, other industrial companies and local colleges to learn more about the engineering field's careers.
The event, which is free to the public and includes lunch, runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Students can be accompanied by one parent during the day's activities.
