Veteran finds Kerry scary
EDITOR:
John Kerry scares me when he talks about what he'd do about Iraq. He'd sell out our troops to the insurgents, just like he did with the troops in Vietnam.
Thanks to the likes of John Kerry and Jane Fonda, the men of Vietnam were spit on because we were labeled as traitors, rapists and murderers when we got back from the war -- and people want to say that Vietnam has nothing to do with the election.Well, as a soldier in that war, it does to me. Kerry is a devil in disguise and he'll sell out our men and women to the enemy in no time flat, and so will the rest of the Democrats. They lie and cheat and will do anything to bring the president down, no matter what. No wonder the other countries don't want to help when the Democrats wouldn't even back the president and talk against him.
I ask all the veterans, regardless of what war you were in, to vote not for Kerry but for the president so we can keep what we fought for in the first place: a free world and peace for America. With Kerry we will not have that. Remember he thinks our men are traitors, rapist, and murderers. Knowing Kerry, he probably still thinks that today, and can we really want a president who thinks that today? Kerry doesn't care about our troops, only getting into office. Vote no on Kerry.

What has President Bush done to fight terrorism?
EDITOR:
Before voters enter the polling booths in November, they should consider the following.
Where is Osama bin Laden? Fifteen of the 19 terrorists who murdered 3,000 of our citizens in the World Trade Center attacks were from Saudi Arabia, as was bin Laden. Why didn't the president feel it was necessary to attack them? There was no justifiable reason to invade Iraq other than the fact that George Bush needed a diversion when it became evident he wasn't going to find bin Laden.
Over 1,000 American troops have been killed, not by an organized military with high tech weapons, but by insurgents who have no qualm about blowing themselves up. Over 12,000 American troops have been wounded, many with legs or arms blown off by roadside bombs. Meanwhile, Bush praises our troops in his speeches, then turns around and slashes combat pay and veterans' benefits. He belittled our long time allies and now wants them to support his war with money and troops.
In the meantime, in the last month Ohio lost another 12,000 jobs bringing the total under Bush to 237,000 jobs lost. Of that total, 173,000 were good paying middle class manufacturing jobs. Bush's tax plan will place the heaviest burden on an already overburdened middle class, while service jobs that pay $7 an hour will replace manufacturing jobs sent overseas because companies received tax breaks as incentive to do so.
John Kerry has clearly stated his positions on the Iraq war. He will reach out to foreign leaders to form a coalition to provide stability in Iraq and bring our troops home. Kerry also stated that he will implement many of the economic policies used by the Clinton administration to put our economy back on track.
As a nation, we must lose the & quot;win at all costs & quot; attitude. We are in a foreign country whose way of life we know little about; a country that does not share our ideals and plays by only its own rules. The beheadings of civilian workers is one example of those rules. Are we willing to continue to let our sons and daughters, husbands and wives, fathers, brothers, etc. be murdered in an unjustified war? If George Bush is granted four more years, thousands more Americans and Iraqis will die, but Osama bin Laden will live on.
