A summary of recent crime activity in Boardman Township:
Sept. 21
Arrest: A 20-year-old Youngstown man was arrested near Indianola Road and Southern Boulevard on a felony charge of receiving stolen property. A 2001 Volkswagen Jetta stolen from a Boardman woman was recovered in the area.
Bad checks: An employee at Panache Hair Salon and Day Spa, 7301 West Blvd., reported receiving two bad checks to pay for $94 worth of services.
Theft: A Boardman man discovered a spare tire had been stolen from his vehicle parked in the 7500 block of Market Street.
Assault: A woman in the 100 block of Overhill Road called police after seeing two men fighting near Overhill and Windsor roads. Neither man was injured.
Theft/criminal damage: An employee at Donnell Ford, 7955 Market St., discovered a company-owned car's driver's-side rear window broken, resulting in $500 in damage, and that a briefcase was stolen.
Theft: Someone took 30 to 35 shirts and pairs of pants from Dillard's in the Southern Park Mall, for a loss of $1,100.
Theft: A Lowellville woman reported her wallet, five credit cards and other property stolen while she shopped at Gabriel Bros., 850 Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: A Struthers man reported a cellular phone stolen from a counter at Ben and Jerry's ice cream in the Southern Park Mall.
Assault: A woman in the 4200 block of Hillman Way reported being spit at in the face during an argument at her home.
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: An employee at Donnell Ford reported a 1995 Pontiac Firebird had been used without permission.
Theft: A Poland man discovered his car keys and personal keys had been taken from his vehicle while he was at The Blue Wolf Tavern, 1295 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Sept. 22
Theft: Police arrested a 23-year-old Boardman man at a Shell gas station, 998 E. Western Reserve Road, on a theft charge after a theft at Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Theft: A woman in the 1200 block of Thalia Avenue reported being tricked out of $1,774 for work to be done on her kitchen that was never completed.
Theft: An employee at Falmer Screw Machine Products and Manufacturing Co., 690 McClurg Road, reported $1,087 and 32 checks had been stolen from the business.
Criminal damage: A McDonald man reported three vehicles had been damaged by a BB gun. The cars were in the 700 block of Ridgefield Road, and damage to driver's-side doors and windows came to about $650.
Theft: An employee at Pepper's Gourmet Food and Catering Co. Inc., 7067 Tiffany Blvd., discovered a $250 soup kettle, a microwave oven and a toaster missing.
Domestic violence: A 24-year-old woman was arrested at her home in the 700 block of Annawan Lane on a domestic-violence charge after a man, 29, reported being a victim. He had a red mark on his left thigh.
Sept. 23
Theft: An employee at Williams Leasing, Austintown, reported both license plates had been removed from a company-owned vehicle parked in the 6000 block of Applecrest Court. Burglary/assault: A woman in the 4000 block of South Schenley Avenue called police after she discovered someone had crawled into her apartment through a kitchen window, and she reported being assaulted after refusing to give the suspect money. The victim had injuries to her head and stomach.
Theft: An $80 pair of hiking boots was stolen from Shoe Carnival, 550 Boardman-Poland Road.
Assault: A Boardman man reported he and another man were assaulted in the Shell True North gas station parking lot, 5135 Market St. He suffered a broken tooth and swelling on the right side of his head. Two men and a boy, all from Boardman, were arrested, but no charges had been filed against them.
Theft: Someone removed 11 Sony PlayStation 2 games from Value City Department Store, 1130 Boardman-Poland Road.
Arrests: Two men, 35 and 38, and a woman, 42, all from Youngstown, were arrested near Market Street and Elva Avenue. The woman faced two counts each of misuse of a credit card and forgery, as well as one count each of receiving stolen property and obstructing official business; charges against the men included probation violation, obstructing official business and possession of drug paraphernalia. An employee at Kaufmann's in the Southern Park Mall reported a stolen credit card had been used to buy an $85 pair of shoes.
Theft: A woman in the 4100 block of Arden Boulevard noticed a political sign posted in her front yard had been removed.
Sept. 24
Theft: An employee at Perkins Family Restaurant, 804 Boardman-Poland Road, called police after three men left without paying a $37 food bill.
Theft: A woman in the 1900 block of Mathews Road reported $50 and a debit/credit card stolen from her home.
Theft: A Campbell man noticed his debit/credit card had been taken while he was at Pep Boys Automotive Super Center, 215 Boardman-Poland Road.
Bad check: An employee at La-Z-Boy Furniture Gallery, 770 Boardman-Poland Road, reported someone used a $635 check, returned on a closed account, to buy a couch.
Theft: Someone took two purses valued at a total of $400 from Dillard's.
Theft: A Grove City, Pa., woman discovered her purse and wallet containing numerous credit cards stolen while she shopped at Old Navy Clothing Store, 377 Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: An employee at TJ Maxx and More, 717 Boardman-Poland Road, reported two bottles of perfume stolen. The loss came to $60.
Theft: An employee at Kohl's, 383 Boardman-Poland Road, reported two sets of sheets and a $24 rug had been taken and refunded for a store gift card.
Theft: A woman in the 400 block of West Midlothian Boulevard reported her vehicle had been entered and $45 removed from an ashtray.
Domestic violence: Police arrested a 52-year-old man at his residence in the 500 block of East Western Reserve Road on a domestic-violence charge. A Poland woman told police the man punched and kicked his wife and threw her down a flight of stairs during an argument. The victim was hospitalized after suffering a shoulder injury and a cut on the right side of her head.
Sept. 25
Theft: Someone stole six pieces of jewelry valued at $126 from Target, 417 Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: An employee at Boardman Convenient Food Mart, 8270 Market St., discovered $84 had been taken from the business.
Theft: A New Waterford woman reported that, as she shopped at Target, her wallet was stolen.
Theft/criminal damage: An employee at Dick's Sporting Goods, 1280 Doral Drive, discovered his car had been entered, and that a $100 cassette player and $80 camera were removed.
Theft/criminal damage: A Poland man found his vehicle had been damaged and a set of cylinder heads, a carburetor, a $200 compact-disc player and a set of speakers stolen while the car was in the 200 block of DeBartolo Drive.
Sept. 26
Burglary: A man reported someone broke into his apartment in the 3900 block of South Schenley Avenue through a first-floor door and took 90 prescription tablets each of Vicodin and Xanex.
Criminal damage: An employee at Boardman Sportscards, 5134 Southern Blvd., reported $300 in damage had been done to a 4-foot-by-5-foot front window after someone fired three projectiles at it.
Criminal damage: A man in the 4600 block of Montrose Avenue reported someone tossed two tree branches through his car's rear window, causing $200 in damage.
Vandalism: Someone used an undetermined object to cause $600 in damage to a glass front door at Northeast Autosports, 6412 Market St.
Criminal damage: A woman noticed damage to her garage window and a flowerpot at her residence in the 3900 block of Baymar Drive.
Criminal damage/criminal mischief: A Youngstown woman told police someone placed sauce on her vehicle's door handle and, after an argument, another woman's car was dented while the vehicles were at Taco Bell, 940 Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft/criminal damage: A woman discovered her vehicle's driver's-side door and steering wheel damaged at her home in the 4800 block of Brookwood Road. Twenty CDs and $10 in change were stolen.
