SALEM -- A Wellington man is dead and a Canfield woman and an Alliance woman are in stable condition at St. Elizabeth Health Center after a three-vehicle accident Friday afternoon at state Route 14 and Beaver Creek Road.
Dead is Thomas Chester, 49. Hospitalized are Kimberly V. Anderkar, 46, of Alliance, who was driving the car in which Chester was a passenger, and Christina Labra, 37, of Canfield, who was driving a sport utility vehicle.
Both women were taken by ambulance to Salem Community Hospital and flown by helicopter to St. Elizabeth after the 3:34 p.m. crash.
The driver of the third vehicle, a tractor-trailer, was Michael Puckett, 30, of Wapakoneta, Ohio, who was not injured.
The car and truck were eastbound on Route 14, and the SUV was westbound on Route 14, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.
The car stopped to turn left onto Beaver Creek Road. The truck hit the car. Both the car and the truck went left of center, hitting the SUV, OSHP said.
