West Salem school is evacuated after male calls in bomb threat

GREENVILLE, Pa. -- The novelty of the bomb threat appears to be spreading.
Police said a threat against the Keystone Charter School in West Salem Township was called in to the Mercer County 911 Center around 12:45 p.m. Thursday.
It was the second bomb threat against a school in the Greenville area in a week.
Greenville High School was evacuated last Friday morning and classes were canceled through Monday after a bomb threat was found written on the wall of a stall in a restroom.
Police said the Keystone school was evacuated and staff and a bomb-sniffing dog joined authorities in searching the building after the time of threatened detonation. Nothing was found.
Classes at the school were canceled for the rest of the day, and residential students at the school were transferred to other Keystone facilities in the township for the night.
About 20 minutes after the Keystone bomb threat was called in, the 911 Center got a call reporting that a Keystone building was on fire.
No such fire existed, police said, adding that they think both the bomb threat and fire call were made by the same person. A male made the calls, police said.
