A baseball bat and knife were recovered at the scene.
NILES -- Three men were to be arraigned today in municipal court on charges of hitting a woman with a baseball bat and then stealing items from her home.
Donald C. Rucker, 33, of Maple Avenue, Niles; Anthony J. Raynovich, 22, of Cooper Street, Youngstown; and Mark A. Kazlauskas, 35, of North Chestnut Street, Niles, are each charged with felonious assault, aggravated burglary and abduction.
They were in the city jail this morning awaiting arraignment.
Police reported they were called to the home of James and Rita Hunyadi at 433 Walnut St. Wednesday afternoon.
Rita Hunyadi said she was smoking crack in a house with some people including Rucker about a week ago when a man took Rucker's PlayStation video game console.
James Hunyadi told police some men showed up at his home Wednesday. They yelled that Rita had been stealing.
Rucker entered the house, according to police, and James Hunyadi was ordered to sit on the couch. Rucker then struck Rita Hunyadi with a bat and punched her, police said.
Rita Hunyadi's son, Tim McCauley, was in his upstairs bedroom. He said one of the men entered the bedroom with a knife. He told police he was dragged to the first floor and ordered to sit with his stepfather.
Raynovich, who was identified as having the knife, is accused of going back upstairs and taking a PlayStation.
Police said Rucker and Raynovich took other items from the house and were putting them in their car when officers arrived. Police reported finding the bat in the house and knife in the car.
