The threat was written on the wall of a restroom stall.
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- A bomb threat written on the wall of a stall in a restroom closed Greenville High School on Friday, and the school won't reopen until Tuesday.
Authorities said the warning indicated the bomb would be detonated Monday, and police said the decision was made to keep the building at 9 Donation Road closed until Tuesday.
The message was discovered around 9:30 a.m. Friday, resulting in an early dismissal for pupils in grades seven through 12.
The building was evacuated, and pupils who walked to school or drove their own vehicles were immediately directed go home.
Pupils who ride buses were first taken to the Hempfield Fire Station, where school buses then arrived to take them home.
Bomb detection
Police called in bomb detection dog teams from Conneaut Lake and Erie to help search the building but had found no physical indication of any explosives as of Friday afternoon.
The threat had a specific time and date for the alleged detonation, and authorities decided to allow ample time for the deadline to expire before reopening the building.
The Greenville Trojans were set to play the Mercer Mustangs in a football game at Greenville's field adjacent to the high school Friday night. School officials opted to have the game moved to Mercer.
