A summary of recent crime activity in Girard, Liberty and Hubbard:
GIRARD
Oct. 25
Vandalism: A New Galilee, Pa., man said someone had crawled underneath his vehicle parked in the 1000 block of South State Street and damaged its transmission and linkage, causing the car to be inoperable.
Assault: A man in the 30 block of Abbey Street told police his daughter, 10, was assaulted near Abbey and Market streets. The girl said two boys threw her and a friend to the ground, covering them with mud, before leaving on their own bicycles.
Theft: A woman reported her daughter's cellular phone stolen from Girard High School, 31 N. Ward Ave.
Oct. 26
Domestic violence: Police arrested a Girard boy, 17, at his residence in the 700 block of Trumbull Lot on a domestic-violence charge. The boy's mother told officers he pushed her onto a couch during a confrontation, and a man at the home said the suspect tried to push him.
Theft/possible burglary: A woman returned to her apartment in the 100 block of South Lorain Avenue and discovered a window screen had been bent. She also noticed two checks missing from her checkbook inside her home.
LIBERTY
Oct. 19
Theft: A man stole eight bottles of soda on two occasions from Giant Eagle, 4700 Belmont Ave.
Breaking and entering: Someone entered an office at an apartment complex in the 4100 block of Logan Gate Road, likely by removing a security bar on a sliding-glass door. A surveillance tape, $500 in cash and some keys were stolen.
Theft: A woman in the 3500 block of Cardinal Drive discovered a $400 AM-FM/CD radio had been removed from her vehicle.
Oct. 20
Theft: A man in the 4100 block of Logan Gate Road reported his wallet containing $30 and a check card had been removed from his car. He discovered four unauthorized automated teller machine withdrawals totaling $128 were made with the card from two Liberty Township banks.
Aggravated menacing: An employee at LaFrance Dry Cleaners, 3403 Belmont Ave., alleged her former boyfriend came to her workplace and, in front of a co-worker, threatened to kill her.
Arrest: After stopping a vehicle near state Route 193 and Interstate 80 for several violations, police arrested a 27-year-old Warren man. He was charged with driving under suspension, two traffic violations and possession of drug-abuse instruments after a hypodermic needle was found on the floor of his car.
Oct. 21
Arrests: After responding to a shoplifting report at K & amp;P Sportswear, 3551 Belmont Ave., police arrested a Youngstown man, 42, and a Warren woman, 44, near Goldie Road and state Route 193. The woman was wanted on warrants charging her with receiving stolen property and forgery and faced additional charges of driving under suspension and failure to appear in court on one count of theft; the man was charged with failure to appear in court on a complicity charge. Four pairs of leather gloves and eight pairs of socks they were accused of taking were recovered.
Theft: A woman reported two antique diamonds, a ring, two men's wedding bands and an anniversary ring stolen from a jewelry box at her residence in the 90 block of Keefer Road. The loss was $4,630.
Theft: A man left Rite Aid Pharmacy, 2704 Belmont Ave., in a vehicle without paying for two cans of baby formula valued at $48.
Theft: A woman in the 3000 block of Hadley Avenue told police that after she gave a man $182 to repair her vehicle, he failed to return her money or perform the service.
Theft: A student at Liberty High School, 1 Leopard Way, reported a $300 video/digital recorder and three compact discs stolen from his car.
Oct. 22
Arrests: After stopping a vehicle near East Liberty Street and Interstate 80 for having no license plate light, police arrested two Youngstown men, 19 and 21. One man was wanted on warrants charging him with aggravated robbery and failure to appear in court, as well as on charges of drug trafficking and driving under suspension; the other man faced a charge of carrying a concealed weapon. Officers say they found in the car a loaded .45-caliber semi-automatic handgun and nine bags of suspected marijuana.
Burglary: A Youngstown woman staying at the Tallyho-tel, 4249 Belmont Ave., reported a man in his mid-30s kicked in the door to her room and took miscellaneous articles of clothing, a Sony PlayStation system and various personal documents.
Oct. 23
Criminal damage: A man in the 5500 block of Logan Arms Drive told police he saw someone in a vehicle run over seven pieces of landscaping timber and a mailbox, causing $240 in damage.
Oct. 24
Auto theft: A Southington man reported his 1993 Chevy Blazer stolen from the American Inn, 1620 Motor Inn Drive.
Oct. 25
Burglary: A man returned to his residence in the 1300 block of Shannon Road and noticed someone had pried open a patio door. A $200 Sony PlayStation game system, a gold wristwatch and 50 DVDs were taken, for a loss of $1,125.
Domestic violence: After responding to a fight in the American Inn parking lot, police arrested a Girard man, 43. He was charged with domestic violence after his wife alleged that, while intoxicated, the suspect struck her with a stick.
HUBBARD
Oct. 21
Domestic violence: Police arrested a Hubbard man on North Main Street and charged him with domestic violence after a woman called 911 to report her husband assaulted her at their residence in the 10 block of Henry Street.
Vandalism: A Hubbard man left the Village Tavern, 746 N. Main St., and found that someone had tossed a rock through his vehicle's window.
Theft: A man reported a bicycle stolen from a shed behind his home in the 100 block of Christian Avenue.
Stolen property: An employee of a Sharon, Pa., rental company reported a flatbed trailer was stolen while it was parked at an apartment complex in the 500 block of West Liberty Street.
Oct. 22
Theft: A Hubbard woman discovered someone had been broken into her vehicle at an apartment complex in the 500 block of West Liberty Street .
Oct. 23
Assault: A Vienna man visiting a building used as a haunted house in the 30 block of South Main Street alleged an employee there smacked him in the face several times with an unknown object. The worker told police the man hit him in the face with an umbrella.
Criminal mischief: A Hubbard man left Frankie's Main Street Cafe, 368 N. Main St., and noticed a vehicle window broken and money missing from the car.
Theft: A man reported a political sign stolen from his yard and others' lawns in the 300 block of Drummond Avenue.
Oct. 24
Burglary: A man discovered his residence in the 300 block of Center Street had been broken into and undetermined items stolen.
Theft: A woman noticed several Halloween decorations stolen from her yard in the 400 block of Melody Lane.
Theft: Several Halloween decorations were removed from a yard in the 20 block of Rebecca Avenue.
Oct. 25
Theft: A Hubbard woman reported that, after someone threw a rock through a car's driver's-side window, various items were taken from the vehicle parked at J & amp;J Dance Studio, 765 N. Main St.
Assault: A Lowellville man reported being assaulted while he was in a building set up as a haunted house in the 30 block of South Main Street.
Theft: A woman discovered a bicycle stolen from her home in the 40 block of East Water Street.
Oct. 26
Theft: A man reported a pumpkin stolen from his front porch in the 40 block of East Water Street.
Criminal damage: An employee at Hubbard High School reported a student's vehicle was damaged in the school's parking lot.
Oct. 27
Criminal mischief: A woman discovered her mailbox smashed at her residence in the 500 block of Creekside Drive.
Breaking and entering: Someone broke into a clubhouse at Deer Creek Golf Club, 7691 E. Liberty St.
