Facing multiple charges
NILES -- A Warren man was arrested after his former girlfriend told police he threatened her with a gun.
Jose Croal, 26, of Trumbull Avenue, Warren, was to be arraigned today in Niles Municipal Court on charges of domestic violence, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal trespassing and violation of a protection order.
According to reports, Croal showed up at the woman's Royal Mall Drive apartment shortly after 1:30 a.m. today and waved a gun at her.
The woman told police Croal left, but soon returned and tried to get in through the front door. When he was unable to open the door, the woman told police he went to the back of the apartment and kicked down the back door. Reports state Croal fled the area on foot when police arrived, but was apprehended in the area a short time later. Records didn't indicate whether police found a gun.
