Van der Linden fires 20th shutout win

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Jessica van der Linden allowed four hits and scored a run, leading Florida State to a 2-0 victory over Washington and eliminating the Huskies from the NCAA Women's College World Series on Saturday.
In the earlier game, Meghan Sickler's sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh provided the go-ahead run for Stanford in a 5-4 victory over Michigan.
Van der Linden (29-8) fanned 10 batters and walked two in hurling her 20th shutout of the season.
She singled with one out in the fourth inning and eventually scored when Tatian George hit a two-run homer off Ashley Boek (29-13).
Florida State moved on to play LSU in an elimination game later Saturday.
Michigan ousted
Michigan (54-13) was eliminated from the eight-team, double elimination tournament.
Reliever Nicole Motycka (22-5) took the loss, allowing eight hits and three runs in five innings.
Dana Sorensen (33-10) went the distance for Stanford, allowing four hits and four runs.
Stanford (49-18) advanced to play Oklahoma in an elimination game later Saturday.
