STRUTHERS -- The board of education appointed a new assistant principal for Struthers Elementary School and raised the price of reserved-seat football game tickets during its meeting Tuesday.
Kent Polen, who most recently served as principal of the J.A. Garfield Intermediate School in Garrettsville, was granted a three-year contract as assistant principal of Struthers Elementary School. The contract is effective with the 2004-05 academic year. His salary was unavailable today.
Other appointments include:
*Christie Zetts, high school science teacher, effective for the 2004-05 academic year.
*Sandra Fuline, student activity secretary at the high school, effective for 2004-05.
*Stacy Guerriero, long-term substitute teacher, first grade, for 2004-05.
The board also approved raising the price of reserved seats for football games from $5 to $7 and accepted a gift of books from Becker Funeral Homes.
