NY-PENN LEAGUE Cyclones rally past Scrappers in eighth

Mahoning Valley will finally return home after an eight-game road swing.
BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- After going 4-4 on an eight-game road trip, the Mahoning Valley Scrappers will finally play at home again tonight.
The Scrappers (5-6) concluded the lengthy trip with a 4-3 loss at the Brooklyn Cyclones (7-4) on Monday.
Tonight the Auburn Doubledays (8-3) begin a four-game series against the Scrappers at Eastwood Field at 7:05 p.m.
Ambiorix Concepcion of Brooklyn hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning to erase a 3-2 lead by the Scrappers.
Celso Rondon (1-0) pitched the final three innings to get the decision.
In the top of the sixth inning Mahoning Valley wiped out a 2-0 deficit with one swing of the bat.
First baseman Christopher Gimenez hit a three-run homer to left center for the Scrappers.
In the ninth inning the Scrappers used a walk, an error and a wild pitch to get two runners in scoring position with no outs.
Two outs later Gimenez was walked to bring up Michael Butia, hitting .400.
Butia hit into a fielder's choice to end the game.
Roger Lincoln (2-2) went the final two innings and took the loss.
Argenis Reyes, Gimenez and Tim Montgomery each had two hits for the Scrappers.
Mahoning Valley had more hits, 9-5, and left more men on base, 10-6.
