Former waitress becomesthird wife for Nicolas Cage
LOS ANGELES -- Oscar-winning actor Nicolas Cage has married for the third time.
The "Leaving Las Vegas" star wed 20-year-old Alice Kim on Friday at a private ceremony on a ranch in Northern California, publicist Annett Wolf told The Associated Press.
It is the third wedding for Cage, 40, who split with his previous wife Lisa Marie Presley after less than four months in 2002. Before that, he was married for six years to actress Patricia Arquette.
Kim, a former sushi waitress, met Cage when the actor visited the Los Angeles restaurant where she worked. This is her first marriage.
They started dating in February and reportedly became engaged after about two months.
Wolf declined to provide addition details on the nuptials. No photo was released.
New York draws hundredsfor 'Apprentice' tryouts
Hundreds of business-suited wannabe moguls flocked to the Trump Tower for "The Apprentice 3" auditions Friday in New York, reports The Associated Press.
"I'm looking for someone with great drive," Trump said.
Most auditioners were 20- to 30-something professionals -- attorneys, project managers, real estate brokers -- who had never applied to a reality TV show. Clutching r & eacute;sum & eacute;s and briefcases, they passed the time in line chatting with fellow applicants, drinking Trump Ice bottled water and filling out the lengthy application.
Trump was scheduled to meet them at 9:50 a.m. In true Trump fashion, he descended Trump Tower's escalator 40 minutes late and greeted the first half of the line with a series of handshakes and questions. The applicants, press and even tourists clamored around Trump as he made his way through the crowd. One man fell over a velvet rope while attempting to snap a picture of "The Donald." And Ty Bush, 11, and Corey Hardwick, 12, heckled the real estate mogul.
"You're fired!" the St. Augustine, Fla., children yelled repeatedly.
"No, no, no," Trump responded. "You're fired!"
Natalie Portman makesa political statement
Actress Natalie Portman's political T-shirt statement on "Good Morning America" on Thursday morning left bosses so worried that her interviewer asked her cover it with a bunch of flowers, reports IMDB.com.
The "Star Wars" beauty made an appearance to promote her new movie "Garden State," but her bold T-shirt, bearing presidential hopeful John Kerry's name and picture, prompted veteran journalist Diane Sawyer's fear that her network, ABC, would fall foul of pre-election guidelines.
Partway through the interview, a smiling Sawyer said, "Now if I'm gonna talk to you, you're gonna have to hold flowers here in front of John Kerry. We can't just have John Kerry the whole time. Who do we bring in for equal time?"
A stunned but laughing Portman shot back, "Come on, you've got Bill O'Reilly's 'The O'Reilly Factor.' That's on television; that evens it out!"
Kirstie Alley speaksopenly about her weight
NEW YORK -- Kirstie Alley has pulled a switch-a-roo on the tabloids. After many photographs splashed in different celebrity magazines documented her noticeable weight gain, the former "Cheers" actress is going on the offensive.
With her new Showtime show, "Fat Actress," to begin filming this fall, Alley is by no means shirking the attention to her weight problem. But that's not to say she's happy with her appearance.
Alley told People magazine: "The weird things is, I don't like the way I look -- and I like who I am. I like who I am better than I've ever liked myself." The 53-year-old actress says that her weight is 203 pounds, not the frequently cited 300 pounds. Still, she completely accepts responsibility for her situation.
"I don't consider fat a disease. I mean, c'mon, who had the [expletive] gun to my head? Nobody! What gene in my body says I have to eat four cakes instead of two? It's a choice."
