XNEW SPRINGFIELD -- Mr. and Mrs. John Brennard of New Springfield observed their 50th wedding anniversary July 3.
The couple were married that day in 1954 at Evergreen Presbyterian Church in Youngstown.
The event was marked at a surprise buffet dinner and party held for family and friends at the home of a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Edward Sprankle of Phoenix. Co-hosts for the gathering were their son and daughter-in-law, John and Lynn Brennard Jr., also of Phoenix, and their son, James Brennard of New Springfield.
Mrs. Brennard, the former Marian Hanson, was a stenographer with the Ohio Bell Telephone Co. in Youngstown.
Mr. Brennard retired from the United Engineering and Foundry of Youngstown in 1982 and afterward worked for Komar Plumbing in Boardman.
