XGIRARD -- In observance of their 50th wedding anniversary, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Ben, 982 Lawrence Ave., received an anniversary blessing June 13 after the 10 a.m. liturgy at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Warren, where they are members.
A reception, hosted by their children and spouses, took place afterward in the church hall.
The former Marilyn Romanowsky and Mr. Ben exchanged marriage vows May 29, 1954, at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Youngstown.
Their children and spouses are Paulette and Al Seiser of Milan, Mich.; Lynette and Fedele DeSantis of Brecksville; and Kenneth and Johnna Ben of Mineral Ridge. Five grandchildren complete the family.
Mrs. Ben is a member of the kitchen crew at the church and is a homemaker.
Retiring in 1986, Mr. Ben was the supervisor of the hourly payroll at Packard Electric Division of General Motors in Warren. He also is a bridge player and tax preparer. Mr. Ben served with the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany.
