Area aces
Jan Porter of Canfield had an ace at Reserve Run Golf Course in Boardman. Porter aced the 120-yard, No. 4 hole with an 8-iron. It was the first ace of her career, and she shot a round of 89. Her partner was Leslie Coalmer.
Mark Stovall of Austintown aced the 185-yard No. 8 hole using a six-iron at Dogwood Golf Course at Lake Milton. Witnesses were John Tyree and Ken Tyree.
Jon Borowicz of Mercer, Pa., aced the 148-yard third hole at Diamond Back Golf Course, using an 8-iron. Tom Amos and Tim Rezoor witnessed the shot.
Larry Ritenour of Girard aced the 165-yard second hole at Mahoning Country Club, using a Trident Lowrider. The shot was witnessed by Donna Ritenour and Jeff Lott.
Joe Santisi of Boardman on Mill Creek's Par-3 course, the 84-yard, No. 10 hole using a pitching wedge with Michael Piesto as witness to the 15-year-old Santisi's hole-in-one.
Larryssa Grimm of Navarre, Fla. aced the 73-yard, No. 16 hole using using a 3-wood at Mill Creek's Par-3 course. Witnesses to the nine-year-old's hole-in-one were Larry Grimm Sr., Larry Grimm and Austin Grimm.
Larry Unger of Boardman aced the 70-yard, No. 15 hole using a pitching wedge at Mill Creek's Par-3 course.
