Shooting victim ID'd
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Mahoning County Coroner's office has identified the victim of a shooting Thursday on the South Side. Mary Thompson, 32, was shot four times at around 11 p.m. at 357 E. Philadelphia Ave. The coroner's office gave both the East Philadelphia Avenue address and 437 Forest St., Warren, as Thompson's residences. Edward C. Anderson, 58, of the same East Philadelphia Avenue address, was arraigned on a murder charge Friday in municipal court for the shooting. Judge Elizabeth A. Kobly set bond at $100,000 cash or surety.
Anderson, 58, of East Philadelphia Avenue, is due back in court July 23 for a preliminary hearing.
Detectives said the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute. Thompson collapsed in a neighbor's driveway, then later died at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
