DETROIT -- Steve Yzerman moved past Mario Lemieux for sixth place on the NHL's career scoring list with his 1,702nd point. Yzerman assisted on Tomas Holmstrom's goal, which gave the Red Wings a 4-2 lead midway through the third period. Detroit's Curtis Joseph made 31 saves and got plenty of help from goal-scorers Brett Hull, Jamie Rivers, Mathieu Dandenault and Kris Draper. Erik Rasmussen and Turner Stevenson scored for the Devils.
Bruins 2, Islanders 1, OT
BOSTON -- Glen Murray scored his second goal of the game 2:25 into overtime. Andrew Raycroft made 23 saves. Oleg Kvasha scored a short-handed goal for New York.
Canucks 4, Blues 2
ST. LOUIS -- Magnus Arvedson scored two goals for the second straight game and Vancouver extended its winning streak to four. Daniel Sedin had a goal and two assists and Markus Naslund scored for Vancouver. Mark Rycroft and Keith Tkachuk scored for the Blues.
Canadiens 3, Wild 2, OT
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Richard Zednik scored with 27.9 seconds to play in overtime as Montreal snapped its three-game losing skid. Mike Ribeiro, who tied it in the third period, assisted on Zednik's goal. Patrice Brisebois also had a goal and an assist, and Mathieu Garon stopped 27 shots in place of Jose Theodore. The Wild got goals from Jason Marshall and Antti Laaksonen.
Capitals 5, Hurricanes 3
RALEIGH, N.C. -- Bates Battaglia broke a third-period tie and Peter Bondra scored twice to lead Washington. Justin Williams scored twice in the second period for the Hurricanes. Anson Carter had an assist, his first with the Capitals since he was acquired for Jaromir Jagr in a Jan. 23 trade with the New York Rangers. Robert Lang also scored for Washington, and Mike Grier added an empty-net goal. Bret Hedican also scored for Carolina.
Senators 4, Coyotes 1
GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Jason Spezza scored twice and added an assist to lead Ottawa. Daniel Alfredsson and Josh Langfeld added goals, and Brian Smolinski had a pair of assists for the Senators. Shane Doan scored his 19th goal for the Coyotes.
Oilers 5, Blackhawks 2
EDMONTON, Alberta -- Shawn Horcoff scored twice and Edmonton extended Chicago's club-record road losing steak to 19 games. George Laraque, Fernando Pisani and Ethan Moreau also scored for the Oilers. Tommy Salo stopped 30 shots for Edmonton. Kyle Calder opened the scoring in the first minute and Bryan Berard also had a goal for the Blackhawks.
Avalanche 3, Kings 3
LOS ANGELES -- Derek Armstrong scored the tying goal with 3:15 remaining in the third period and Los Angeles rallied from two goals down. Alexander Frolov and rookie Scott Barney scored power-play goals for the Kings. Milan Hejduk and Alex Tanguay each had a goal and an assist, and Travis Brigley also scored for the Avalanche. Peter Forsberg extended his point streak to 11 games with an assist.
