ICL/TCL S. Range drops Reserve, setting up showdown
South Range will play at Springfield on Saturday.
NORTH LIMA -- Natalie Biastro scored 10 points Thursday as the South Range High girls basketball team stayed one game back of first-place Springfield with a 30-23 victory over Western Reserve.
In a key Inter-County League showdown Saturday, South Range (8-5, 6-1) plays at Springfield (13-0, 7-0) at 6 p.m.
Biastro scored eight of the Raiders' 12 third-quarter points.
Biastro and Jodi James each pulled in seven rebounds for the Raiders, who have won four straight.
Emily Johnson scored 10 points for Blue Devils (2-10, 0-7), who led 14-10 at the break.
Springfield 70, Mineral Ridge 27
NEW MIDDLETOWN -- Lindsay Johnson scored 23 points and Sarah Fannon chipped in with 10 for the Tigers. Chelsea Quimby and Carrie Davis each had nine rebounds.
Jenna Hinks led the Rams (2-11, 0-7) with 11 points. Abbey Kiger pulled down seven rebounds.
McDonald 59, Jackson-Milton 54
MCDONALD -- Ashleigh Tondo had 25 points and seven steals to lead McDonald.
Also for the Blue Devils (7-6, 3-4), Amy Dolsak had 10 points, 11 rebounds and six assists, while Ashshena Stephens added 12 points.
Sarah Johnson scored 23 points and Julie Karash 13 for Jackson-Milton (6-7, 3-4).
Crestview 55, United 43
COLUMBIANA -- Katie Kibby scored 14 points to lead Crestview to a win over United in a Tri-County League game.
Bri Phillis add 11 points as the Rebels (12-2, 7-1) remained in the hunt for the TCL title.
Danielle Altenhof scored 12 points for the Golden Eagles (7-6, 2-5), who led 15-9 after one quarter and 27-25 at the half.
