Capitals 2, Rangers 1
NEW YORK -- Olaf Kolzig made 32 saves and New York lost Eric Lindros to another concussion. Jeff Halpern and Trent Whitfield scored as the Capitals ended a three-game losing streak and won for the first time in seven road games (1-4-1-1). Kolzig made 19 saves in the third period. Martin Rucinsky scored for the Rangers. Lindros, plagued by seven previous concussions throughout his career, took a hard hit along the boards from Capitals defenseman Jason Doig in the second period and was knocked to the ice.
Thrashers 1, Blues 1
ATLANTA -- Jeff Cowan scored with 2:24 remaining in regulation and Atlanta was bolstered by the return of Dany Heatley. Heatley was playing for the first time since a Sept. 29 car wreck killed teammate Dan Snyder. The Blues broke a scoreless tie at 5:17 of the third period when Scott Mellanby scored his 11th goal.
Flyers 3, Panthers 3
SUNRISE, Fla. -- Florida's Kristian Huselius scored with 8:55 remaining in the third period. Andreas Lilja and Juraj Kolnik also scored for the Panthers. Roberto Luongo made 44 saves. Rookie defenseman Joni Pitkanen had the first two-goal game of his NHL career, and Eric Weinrich also scored for the Flyers.
Stars 5, Senators 3
DALLAS -- Sergei Zubov scored the tie-breaking goal from center ice with 3:07 remaining and Dallas rallied from two goals down in the third period. Scott Young added an insurance goal for the Stars 1:04 later. Mike Modano and Pierre Turgeon had goals in a 65-second span early in the third period to pull Dallas even at 3. Martin Havlat and Wade Redden scored second-period goals during a five-minute power play, and Peter Schaefer added a short-handed tally later in the same period to give Ottawa a 3-1 lead. David Oliver also scored for Dallas.
Sharks 4, Flames 1
SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Patrick Marleau scored two goals on assists by Marco Sturm as San Jose won for the sixth time in its last seven games. Evgeni Nabokov made 18 saves for the first-place Sharks. Mike Rathje also scored for San Jose. Scott Thornton added an empty-net goal from center ice with 9.4 seconds remaining. Martin Gelinas scored for the Flames.
Kings 4, Mighty Ducks 3, OT
ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Joe Corvo scored 2:37 into overtime for Los Angeles. Josef Stumpel had a goal and two assists for the Kings. Steve Rucchin ended his 10-game scoring drought with a pair of goals for Anaheim. Ruslan Salei scored with 12:31 remaining in overtime to tie score at 3. Luc Robitaille and Scott Barney also scored for Los Angeles.
