AMMONIA SPILL: Ashland firefighters use a meter to check the ammonia levels in the air at the scence of an accident on Interstate 71 at the U.S. Route 250 overpass in Ashland, Ohio. A tanker truck was hit by a car, causing it to overturn and spill 5,000 gallons of ammonium hydroxide about 12:30 p.m. Monday, according to the Highway Patrol. The northbound lanes of the interstate remained closed to traffic this morning. The accident initially closed all lanes of the highway for 15 miles in both directions. The driver of the truck was injured, and the driver of the car was cited for failure to maintain control. Weather did not appear to be a factor, police said.
