Center offers programfor older job-seekers
BOARDMAN -- Area employers and those ages 55 and older who are looking for work are invited to attend a senior employment program Thursday at the Mature Services' Senior Employment Center at 5500 Market St., Suite 114.
The program will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and is sponsored by the center and the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber of Commerce.
The center recently created an Employer Based Training program that covers 100 percent of a trainee's wages and fringe benefits for up to six weeks. The trainee joins the employer's company for up to six weeks and, at the end of the training period, the employer can choose to hire or release the trainee.
Neither the employer nor the trainee is charged a fee for the service. The center provides jobs for more than 1,100 older workers each year.
