Cop suspended over dispute with ex-husband

AUSTINTOWN -- Police Patrol Officer Kathy Dina has been suspended for five days without pay for her part in a confrontation with her ex-husband while she was on duty in November.
Dina was suspended by township trustees Monday night for ignoring a supervisor's previous warning not to go to her ex-husband's house while she was on duty, as well as for cursing and not acting courteously while on duty.
Police reports state that Dina went to her ex-husband Joseph Dina's home Nov. 23 to discuss custody of their children.
She said Joseph Dina slammed a door on her and injured her back and shoulder when she wouldn't leave, reports state. Joseph Dina told police he didn't slam the door on Kathy Dina; a witness said the door was shut on Kathy Dina's foot.
Joseph Dina has pleaded innocent in Mahoning County Court in Canfield to domestic violence as a result of the confrontation.
Kathy Dina has pleaded innocent in the same court to trespassing.
