Jan. 15
Attempted auto theft: Police arrested a 19-year-old Youngstown man on a charge of attempted grand theft auto after a man in the 3900 block of Cascade Drive reported someone tried to steal his 1994 Chevrolet Blazer from his driveway.
Arrest: A 32-year-old Lowellville woman was arrested on three counts of felony theft. An employee at Greenwood Market Motor Co., 7871 Market St., reported the theft of insurance checks that resulted in a loss to the business of more than $14,000.
Theft: Police charged a 26-year-old Youngstown man with theft after a DVD collection, a Nintendo game controller device, five compact discs, two cameras and other merchandise were stolen from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.
Criminal damage: Someone damaged a light post and a mailbox at a residence in the 7600 block of Hitchcock Road.
Criminal mischief: Someone did $100 in damage to two aluminum downspouts at a residence in the 6100 block of Glenridge Drive.
Theft: A woman reported a man in his 60s took her wallet from a shopping cart while she shopped at Marc's, 7121 Tiffany Blvd.
Theft: Police arrested two Youngstown girls, 13 and 16, on theft charges after an employee at the JCPenney store in the Southern Park Mall alleged they attempted to steal $494 worth of clothing and jewelry.

Theft: An employee at Spartan Chevrolet, 7870 Market St., reported a rear license plate was missing from a vehicle.
Criminal damage: A man in the 1900 block of Cover Drive discovered tire tracks through his front yard. Damage was reported at $200.
Theft: An employee at Victoria's Secret in the Southern Park Mall reported her wallet stolen from a sales counter.
Criminal damage: A woman noticed miscellaneous lawn damage on property she owns in the 300 block of Meadowbrook Avenue.
Theft: An employee at Living Naturally Health Food Inc., 1449 Boardman-Canfield Road, discovered a product missing from the business.
Theft: Police arrested a 22-year-old Struthers man on a theft charge after an $80 set of speakers and $100 fog gates were stolen from Best Buy, 561 Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: A 29-year-old New Castle, Pa., woman was charged with theft after a $60 pair of tennis shoes was stolen from Shoe Carnival, 550 Boardman-Poland Road. She also was charged with obstructing official business after police say she provided false information about her identity.
Theft: A woman reported eight checks and 15 Christmas cards stolen from her residence in the 8500 block of Reserve Drive.
Assault: A woman reported being assaulted as she attempted to intervene in a fight between two family members at a residence in the 3200 block of Straley Lane.
Assault: A North Lima man alleged a man in his 40s or 50s assaulted two girls at a residence in the 800 block of Chester Avenue.

Arrest: A 35-year-old Boardman man was arrested near Market Street and Newport Drive on a charge of disorderly conduct while intoxicated.
Breaking and entering: Someone tried to break into a home in the 4200 block of South Avenue, causing $200 in damage to an oval window.
Theft: A 25-year-old Boardman woman was arrested on a theft charge after a $63 inkjet print cartridge, three packs of photo paper and a $40 software package were stolen from Office Max, 427 Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: An employee at Sprint PCS Wireless, 430 Boardman-Poland Road, reported a $200 cellular phone stolen.
Theft: A 14-year-old Struthers girl was charged with theft after a $65 pair of sweat pants was stolen from Kaufmann's in Southern Park Mall.
Theft: Police arrested two Boardman girls, 12 and 14, and a Youngstown girl, 17, on theft charges after 24 CDs, four necklaces, two tubes of lipstick, a candy bar and a bottle of lotion were removed from Target, 417 Boardman-Poland Road. One girl also was charged with possession of criminal tools.
Assault: An employee at the YMCA, 45 McClurg Road, reported an assault had taken place in the gym.
Theft: Someone took two cartons of cigarettes from a Rich gas station, 5823 South Ave.

Auto theft: A 1993 Olds Cutlass Ciera was missing from a driveway in the 4500 block of Grover Drive.
Theft: A woman reported 10 gold rings, six pairs of gold earrings, 10 charm bracelets and five gold bracelets, totaling $500, missing from her apartment in the 200 block of Washington Boulevard.
Domestic violence: A 26-year-old man was arrested at his Orlo Lane home on a domestic violence charge after a family member alleged he assaulted her.
Drugs: A 19-year-old Youngstown man was arrested near Stadium and Sugartree drives on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and drug abuse.
Theft: Someone stole a $60 pair of shoes from Shoe Carnival and left an older pair of shoes at the business.
Burglary: A man in the 5800 block of Sharon Drive reported his residence was broken into and a toolbox, a 20-piece screwdriver set, a hammer and two other tools were taken.
Theft: A Poland man reported his wallet containing $100 was stolen from a locker room at the YMCA.
Jan. 19
Burglary: An 18-year-old man was arrested at his Mill Creek Boulevard residence and charged with receiving stolen property after a Charles Avenue woman reported a Nintendo game system, a set of jacks, a power cable, a set of game controllers and a memory card stolen.
Arrest: A 20-year-old Youngstown man was arrested on Washington Boulevard on a warrant charging him with two counts of domestic violence. He also was charged with resisting arrest.
Theft: Police arrested a 38-year-old New Middletown man on a theft charge after a $17 flashlight and a pair of suspenders were stolen from Lowe's, 1100 Doral Drive.
Drugs: After a traffic stop in the 7400 block of West Boulevard, a 44-year-old Boardman woman was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Theft: Police arrested two Youngstown girls, 15 and 17, on theft charges after $362 worth of clothes were stolen from Kohl's, 383 Boardman-Poland Road.
Assault: A Boardman man alleged a man, 27, assaulted him as he got out of his car in the 50 block of Terrace Drive. The man had swelling and several cuts near his left eye, a bloody nose and a cut on his right elbow.
Theft: A man discovered $300 worth of scaffolding missing from a construction site in the 3900 block of South Avenue.
Theft: An employee at CFC Business, 4800 Market St., discovered a $6,000 check, miscellaneous files and keys and $1,087 in cash missing.
Theft: A Deerpath Drive woman reported someone fraudulently used her credit card number to make more than $3,300 worth of out-of-state purchases.
Theft: A Daffodil Trail man reported someone stole a $340 pair of rollerblades from a family member at Vertigo Skatepark, 215 McClurg Road.
Counterfeit: An employee at KFC, 6636 South Ave., reported a man, age 19 or 20, tried to give her a counterfeit $100 bill in exchange for smaller bills.

Theft: A man in the 6800 block of Lockwood Boulevard reported a CD player was removed from his vehicle.
Theft, criminal damage: An employee at the Boardman Township Road Department, 8299 Market St., reported a $1,000 plow pump and a $50 power cable stolen.
Recovered property: A 15-year-old Boardman boy was charged with grand theft auto after a 1988 Pontiac Grand Am was stolen on Terrace Drive. The car was recovered in the Paul's Tire & amp; Smoke Shop parking lot, 4852 Southern Blvd.
Criminal damage: A woman discovered her vehicle's driver's-side window broken near her residence in the 6800 block of Lockwood Boulevard.
Breaking and entering: A Crestline Place woman reported that someone broke a window and entered her apartment.
Possible theft: A Boardman woman reported her car's front license plate was lost or stolen near Lockwood Boulevard.
Identity theft: A Simon Road woman reported someone fraudulently used her checking account number on the Internet, resulting in a $931.83 loss to her account.
Identity theft: A South Schenley Avenue woman alleged a man, 22, used her identity to open a credit account at Helzberg Diamonds, 7415 Market St.
Criminal damage: Someone damaged a vehicle's windshield in the 1300 block of Meadowood Circle.
Theft: Police arrested a Youngstown man, 18, and an Austintown boy, 14, on theft charges after an $80 radar detector and a pair of scissors were stolen from Wal-Mart.
Attempted theft: A 36-year-old New Springfield woman was charged with attempted theft after an employee at Ianazone's Pizza, 980 Mathews Road, alleged she tried to steal a jar containing $62.
Burglary: A man in the 4100 block of Lockwood Boulevard reported his home broken into and a $600 12-gauge shotgun, a .22-caliber rifle and a $900 rifle stolen.
Theft, criminal damage: A man in the 7300 block of West Boulevard reported damage to his vehicle, and a $300 stereo-CD player, two 10-inch speakers, a $300 amplifier and a radar detector removed.
