YOUNGSTOWN -- A Warren man working security at Patsy's bar on South Avenue dressed in a black uniform complete with Ohio State constable badge, patches and pins was arrested early Saturday on a charge of impersonating a peace officer.
Joseph P. Altiero, 49, of Swallow Street told police that he was hired by Ohio State Police Constable Service and would be paid $8 an hour "under the table."
The business on Logan Avenue is operated by La-Roi Dock, who has contended that the company's incorporation with the state gives his employees police powers.
Over the past few years, several people working security at South Side bars have been found guilty of impersonating police officers.

Welcoming troops home
A welcome-home-from-Iraq ceremony for some 180 members of the Ohio National Guard's 135th Military Police was Sunday at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.
The 135th conducted law and order and police intelligence operations in the southwestern region of Baghdad. Also, 135th members helped establish a stable and secure living environment while working to assist the newly formed Iraqi Police Force.
Two soldiers from the 135th died while on patrol on the Tigris River in December 2003. Staff Sgt. Aaron T. Reese, 31, of Reynoldsburg, and Specialist Todd M. Bates, 20, of Bellaire, were the first ONG soldiers to die supporting the war on terrorism.
"We are terribly saddened by the deaths of Staff Sgt. Reese and Specialist Bates," said Major Gen. John H. Smith, adjutant general of Ohio.
