Gem Young acquires agency
BOARDMAN -- Gem Young Insurance is expanding into Columbiana County by acquiring Tri-Ohio Insurance Agency in East Liverpool. Steve Smith, who founded Tri-Ohio in 1984, and Jennifer Ramsey, customer service agent, will continue to work from the East Liverpool office, which will be Gem Young's third office. It also has offices in Boardman and North Jackson. Leo Daprile, Gem Young president, said the company's client base will increase nearly 15 percent with the addition of Tri-Ohio.
A Step Above moves
AUSTINTOWN -- A Step Above Home Inspections has moved to a new office at 4334 New Road. The company, started by president Carl Clay last year, has two employees on its office staff and one certified home inspector.
Entrepreneur classes
YOUNGSTOWN -- North Star-Patchwork Training Center will hold classes on becoming a home-based entrepreneur Feb. 10 through April 30. Classes are from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The fee is $75. Call (330) 744-4064 for reservations.
