Kent State gives Broncos first MAC loss

KENT -- Bryan Bedford had 18 points and DeAndre Haynes added 16 points to lead Kent State to a 84-71 win over Western Michigan Wednesday night.
Kent's John Edwards scored eight of his 15 points during a 19-6 run that gave the Golden Flashes (11-3, 5-1 Mid American Conference) a 55-42 lead with 10:28 remaining in the game.
Ben Reed scored 18 points for the Broncos (12-2, 5-1), and Mike Williams added 16 points.
Miami 80, Cent. Michigan 70
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Juby Johnson scored 19 points to lead Miami (8-6, 4-2 Mid-American). Monty St. Clair finished with 14 points, while Chet Mason added 13 and William Hatcher scored 12.
Gerrit Brigitha led the Chippewas (3-13, 0-6) with 17 points, while David Hoskins scored 16, Tony Bowne scored 13 and Brandon Voorhees had 10.
West Virginia 55, Marshall 51
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Tyrone Sally scored seven of his 18 points down the stretch to lead West Virginia. Joe Herber added 12 points for West Virginia (9-6), which won the lowest scoring game since the series between the cross-state rivals moved to Charleston in 1989.
Marvin Black had 18 points and 10 rebounds for Marshall (6-8).
