ASSOCIATIONS
XDianthus Chapter of the American Business Women's Association will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Shepherd of the Valley, North River Road, Howland. The guest speaker will be Doreen Dulka from the New Life Maternity Home. CLUBS
XChristian Women's Club South will meet for a luncheon at noon Feb. 12 at Antone's Banquet Centre, 8578 Market St., Boardman. The "Heart to Heart" program will feature Portraits of Love by Arbogast Photography, solos by Chuck Brown, and a talk on "Sharing From the Heart" by Eleanor Daum. The cost is $9. Reservations are required by Feb. 5.
XOhio Cultural Alliance will meet at 6 p.m. Feb. 2 at the Polish National Church of the Sacred Heart in Youngstown. The theme will be "The Immigrant Experience: From Poland to the Mahoning Valley" with the Rev. Joseph Rudjak as speaker. There will be ethnic music by Jacek and Dorotea Sobieski and ethnic food prepared by Kathy Pazzuto and her fellow church members. Cost is $11 for paid members and $16 for nonmembers. Reservations must be received by Wednesday by sending checks payable to the organization to OCA, P.O. Box 561, Canfield, Ohio 44406-0561.
XWarren Women's Connection will hold a "Brides and Bows" breakfast from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Feb. 9 at Aulizio's Banquet Center, 4395 Youngstown-Warren Road. The program will feature bridal gowns from past decades, and Linda Hull will be the inspirational speaker. The cost is $10. Reservations for the brunch and free nursery are required by Feb. 5 and can be made by calling Joyce Faiver, (330) 539-5837, or Diana Pishotti, (330) 638-1386. Guests are welcome.
XWomen's Aglow will hold a spring retreat March 12 and 13 at Mercer Howard Johnson Motel, I-80 at Exit 15. The speaker will be Diane Moder. The cost is $95 for double occupancy, or $85 for four in a room, and includes registration fee, one night at the motel, dinner, a continental breakfast and a lunch. Checks should be made payable to Midwest Area Aglow, and mailed to Mary Godwin, 834 Oswald St., Wampum, Pa. 16157, by Feb. 12. For more information call (724) 538-3320.
GUILDS
XAmerican Sewing Guild, Niles Chapter, will hold a free sit-and-sew event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 11 at Bazetta Fire Station, 773 Everett-Hull Road, Cortland. Lap robes will be made for nursing-home residents. Those attending are asked to take a covered dish to share or appropriate contribution. Members can earn guild dollars and participate in contests. POLITICAL CLUBS
XCanfield Republican Women's Club will meet Feb. 4 for a social at 6 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 at A La Carte Catering in Canfield. The program will be "Ladies of the Club" based on wives of presidents. For reservations call (330) 533-7048 or e-mail bhlady@zoominternet.net.
RELIGIOUS GROUPS
XCatholic Daughters of the Americas, Court St. Anne 1875, will meet after the noon Mass Feb. 2 at Holy Name of Jesus Founders Hall. A lunch and business meeting are planned. Hostesses will be Ann Semko and Alice Chizmar. The interfaith tea will be held Feb. 3.
XHoly Name of Jesus Ladies Guild will meet at noon Feb. 10 in Founder's Hall. Luncheon hostesses will be Margaret Bada and Kay Bozick. All women of the parish are invited to attend and to join the guild.
XMother of the Crucifix Society of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church will meet at 2 p.m. Feb. 1in the lower hall at the church with Anita Jones presiding. Plans will be made for a card and bingo party to be held in March. Refreshments will be served.
